U nlike a rotary valve thatinevitably has some air
leakagebecause of the clearancerequired between the bladesand the
housing, The Double-Flap gate Airlock Valve isdesigned to seal
completelyand isnt subject to the kind of
wear that rotary valves wouldendure under extremeapplication
conditions.
B Y OPENING AND CLOSING THE GATES INSEQUENCE, THE DOUBLE-FLAP
GATE AIRLOCK VALVE
IS ABLE TO MOVE MATERIAL THROUGH THE VALVEWHILE MAINTAINING A
CONSTANT PRESSURE DROP
As shown in the diagram, the Double-Flap gate Airlock Valve
uses two pivoting gates that open and closes in sequenceto ll
and empty the chamber between the gates. Becauseone of the gates is
always closed, the air seal is maintainedthroughout the ll and dump
sequence.

The Double-Flap gate Airlock Valves are designed for
high-pressure applications up to 20 psiand temperature extremes up
to 1,650F or higher depending upon the application.
Double-ap gate product that can operate reliably in pneumatic
conveying systems at thesepressures. All models are offered with a
choice of pneumatic, electro-mechanical or gravity/counterweight
actuation. A triple ap gate con guration is also available if
better suited toyour particular application.
