Take your coffee maker out of thebox and remove the packaging.

Before using the appliance for thefirst time, clean thoroughly byoperating two or three times with themaximum volume of fresh water (10cups) but without using coffee.

Wash the detachable parts of themachine in warm soapy water.

LLooccaattiinngg tthhee ffiilltteerr

1 To remove the filter, slide the lockingtab on the removable filter holder tothe unlock position and lift both theholder and mesh filter out to clean.(see cleaning) A

2 To refit, place the removable filterholder into the top of your coffeemaker, making sure the tab lines upwith the rib then slide the locking tabto the lock position. Place thepermanent mesh filter inside the filterholder by lining up the locating tabwith the groove in the filter holder asshown

MMaakkiinngg ccooffffeeee

1 Lift up the hinged reservoir lid.

2 Fill the water reservoir with therequired amount of water using thewater level indicator as a guide. Boththe jug and water level indicator aremarked in cups. Do not exceed themaximum level on the watergauge.B

3 Spoon the required amount ofground filter coffee into the meshfilter spreading it evenly. We suggestone level measuring spoon for everycup. Ensure the filter is sittingproperly in the filter holder.

4 Close the reservoir lid.

5 Select the strength of coffee requiredusing the strength selector on thereservoir lid.

6 Slide the jug into the coffee makerensuring it sits correctly on the hotplate. The jug lid must be in placeduring the brewing process,

otherwise the non-drip valve will notopen, causing the filter to flood.

7 Plug the filter coffee maker in at thewall socket and push the coffeeon/off switch to ‘ON’ position. Theorange light will glow to show coffeemaker is working.

8 Hot water will start to flow throughthe coffee grounds and into the glassjug as coffee.

9 When the filtering process iscomplete remove the glass jug fromyour coffee maker and pour thecoffee into your cups.

10 The anti-drip valve will prevent anyremaining coffee dripping onto thehot plate. Ensure that the jug isreplaced on the hot plate afterserving. While the coffee maker isswitched ON the hot plate will keepthe coffee warm.

11 Switch off the coffee maker when thejug is empty or the coffee is nolonger required.

WARNING: The coffee maker andhot plates are hot and remain hotfor some time after switching off.

12 Allow unit to cool.

13 Remove the permanent mesh filterand empty the used coffee grounds.Wash the filter immediately and drythoroughly. NOTE: THE MESH WILLBECOME DISCOLOURED AFTER AWHILE DUE TO THE STAININGEFFECT OF COFFEE.

NOTE: It is normal for the greenready light to go out and come backon intermittently due to thermostaticcycling.

MMaakkiinngg aa ccaappppuucccciinnooPrepare your machine as describedin the section ‘Making a coffee’. Useyour glass jug for measuring thecorrect amount of water needed.

FFrrootthhiinngg mmiillkk

It is advised to start heating yourmilk at the same time as heatingyour coffee or several minutes beforemaking coffee to ensure milk is hot.

1 Fill the stainless steel milk jugprovided with the required amount ofmilk. Do not exceed the maximumlevel or add less than the minimumlevel.

2 Place the jug on the hot plate andswitch on. C

NOTE: You can turn on the hot plateat the same time as the coffeehotplate. It will take approximately 5-7 minutes for the milk to heat up toits optimum frothing temperature.

3 Lift the milk jug up to the milk frotherblade D. Raise the milk jug ensuringthat the cowl is just under thesurface of the milk - this will give themaximum froth. Maintain the milk jugin this position between 30-60seconds.

WARNING: Take care as the milkwill be hot.

4 Place the milk jug back on the hotplate to reheat the milk and preservethe quality of the froth.

NOTE: The jug can stay on the hotplate until the coffee has finishedbrewing but be careful not to burnyour milk/froth.

5 Pour the coffee into cups and gentlypour or preferably spoon the milkonto the coffee, then sprinkle a littlechocolate powder for the perfectcappuccino.

6 Turn off the milk frother hot plate bypressing the on/off switch.

WARNING: the stainless steel jugand the hotplate will remain hotfor sometime after switching off.

CClleeaanniinngg The milk frother blade can be wipedclean still attached to the machine orit can be removed for easy cleaningby unscrewing the blade and shaft.Wash carefully in hot soapy water.

For quick cleaning just after use, fillup the milk jug with hot water andrun the frother for 30-50 seconds;repeat the process twice.

If the milk has been left for a longtime the cowl and blade can beremoved and soaked in hot soapywater for 2-5 minutes before rinsingclean.

1 Remove the cowl directly after useand rinse in warm water. E It isrecommended that you clean theblade immediately after use, as driedmilk can be difficult to remove.

The frother blade can be wiped cleanstill attached to the machine.

2 If further cleaning is required thepropeller and shaft can be removed.To replace, insert the stem of themilk frother blade into the mountinghole on the unit and screw intoplace.F

NOTE: If the blade is removed,ensure that it is fully tightened inplace otherwise the frother will notoperate properly.

3 There may be some splash back ofmilk on the underside of the frothingunit. Switch the unit off then simplywipe this area clean with a dampcloth.

WARNING: THE FROTHER ONLYOPERATES CORRECTLY WHENTHE COWLING IS CORRECTLYASSEMBLED.

DO NOT OPERATE THE FROTHERDRY OR NOT SUBMERSED INLIQUID FOR LONG PERIODS OFTIME.

1/3 coffee

1/3 hot milk

1/3 hot frothed milk

Chocolate powder for sprinkling

1 Prepare coffee as per ‘making acoffee’ instructions.

2 Fill the stainless steel milk jug withthe required amount of milk, place onthe hotplate and switch on. The milkwill take approx. 5-7 minutes toreach the appropriate temperature.

3 Froth milk by lifting the milk jug up tothe milk frothing blade ensuring thatthe blade is just under the surface ofthe milk and press the milk frothingbutton. The milk will take approx. 30-60 seconds to froth.

4 Pour the coffee in first and then thehot milk into a cappuccino cup,spoon over frothed milk.

5 Sprinkle with chocolate powder toserve.

Cafe Latte

1/2 coffee

1/2 hot frothed milk

1 Prepare coffee as per ‘making acoffee’ instructions.

2 Fill the stainless steel milk jug withthe required amount of milk, place onthe hotplate and switch on. The milkwill take approx. 5-7 minutes toreach the appropriate temperature.

Moccacino

1/3 coffee

1/3 hot chocolate

1 Prepare coffee as per ‘making acoffee’ instructions.

2 Fill the stainless steel milk jug withthe required amount of milk, place onthe hotplate and switch on. The milkwill take approx.5-7 minutes to reachthe appropriate temperature.

3 Froth milk by lifting the milk jug up tothe milk frothing blade ensuring thatthe blade is just under the surface ofthe milk and press the milk frothingbutton. The milk will take approx. 30-60 seconds to froth.

4 Prepare the hot chocolate accordingto the instructions.

5 Pour the coffee, hot milk and hotchocolate into a tall glass and serve.

Irish coffee

Makes 2 servings

40ml of double cream

2 tsp sugar

4 shots of Irish whisky

350ml hot strong coffee

1 Whip double cream until thick thenchill.

2 Warm 2 Irish coffee glasses with hotwater and place in each a teaspoonof sugar and 2 shots of Irish whisky.

3 Divide coffee among the glasses.

4 Slowly dribble the chilled cream overthe back of the spoon.

5 Do not stir.

Amaretto coffee

250ml hot strong coffee

2 tablespoons of double or whippedcream

2 shots of Amaretto

Sugar to taste

1 Stir the coffee and alcohol togethereither with a couple of tablespoonsof double-cream, or top with a dollopof whipped cream.

2 Sprinkle with grated chocolate andserve.

• If you live in a harder water area, werecommend that your coffee makeris descaled at regular intervals, eg.every 2 - 3 months. In areas ofmoderately hard water you shoulddescale every 6 months.

• If the water filters through moreslowly than usual, it is a sign thatdescaling is necessary.

• We recommend you to useproprietary liquid descaler which isespecially made for coffee makersand plastic kettles. Follow theinstructions on the bottle or sachet,and them operate the coffee makerwith just water 3 times beforemaking coffee.

• Do not use kettle descaler unless thepacket specially states it is suitablefor coffee makers.

NOTE: The permanent mesh filtershould not be used during descaling.

CClleeaanniinngg ccaarree

Unplug The coffee maker, and allowto cool.

Do not immerse the coffee maker inliquid.

Rinse the water tank occasionallywith cold water. Do not use a clothas any residue or lint left behindmay clog the coffee maker.

Remove the permanent filter discardused coffee and wash with warmsoapy water. Extended soaking helpsremove coffee stains from the mesh.Rinse and dry thoroughly.

Wash the milk frother blade,milkfrother attachment, milk frother jug,glass jug, and filter holder, in warm

soapy water. Rinse and dry all partsthoroughly. Refit filter, filer holder,milk frother blade, and milk frotherattachment.

Wipe all external surfaces with adamp cloth and dry thoroughly.

Care must be taken to ensure thenon drip valve situated on thebottom of the filter holder is notdamaged during cleaning.

Never use harsh or abrasivecleaners.

MILK FROTHER PARTS(EXCLUDING MILK FROTHER JUG)ARE DISHWASHER SAFE.
