Thousands of Military Artifacts Exhibited at Fifth Annual

Military Collectors Fair

Visitors to the National World War I Museum at Liberty Memorial will have the opportunity to

view privately-held collections of military artifacts from the Civil War to the present during the

fifth annual Militaria Collectors Day. The free event will take place Saturday, March 21, 2009,

from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Private collections from the Kansas City area will be displayed in the J.C. Nichols Auditorium

Lobby of the National World War I Museum. Rare objects from around the world including

firearms, helmets, personal effects, uniforms, insignia, swords and bayonets will be on exhibit.

While admission to the Militaria Collectors Day is free, regular admission will be charged to the

National World War I Museum. No buying, selling or trading of artifacts is permitted at the

event.

This unique event is organized, in part, by the Kansas City Military Collectors Club.

The National World War I Museum at Liberty Memorial is open Tuesday through Sunday from

10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Museum is closed Mondays, except for Memorial Day. The Museum is

also closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day. Last tickets for the Liberty Memorial

Tower are sold at 4:15 p.m. Tickets can be purchased on the day of your visit. The Liberty

Memorial is operated in agreement with the Kansas City, Missouri Board of Parks and
