Memories of Udaipur Conference

When the idea first struck in the mind of our dynamic president, Dr. Mahesh Gupta to host the midterm SOGOG conference outside Gujarat, there were doubts in the minds of active AOGS team regarding its success. But once “Hotel Sheraton, Udaipur Palace” the venue, for the conference is announced, everybody decided that we will make it. And the net result of hard work of whole active AOGS team under the active guidance of equal ly dynamic hon. secretary of AOGS Dr. Phagun Shah, the history was created on 3rd & 4th August 2013.

First time in the history of more than 75 years of SOGOG any event is organised outside Gujarat, and as mentioned by Dr. Shushma Baxi from the dais before her lecture that on this rainy day, all roads from Gujarat seems to be leading to Udaipur. In spite of heavy rain in Ahmadabad & many parts of Gujarat on the night of 2nd august & morning of 3rd august, all the rooms of hotel Sheraton were occupied by 12.30 p.m. on 3rd of august. About more than 600 delegates from Ahmedabad, Baroda, Surat, Balsar, Navsari , Anand, Bharuch, Nadiad, Mehsana, Himmatnagar, Bhavnagar, palanpur, Jamnagar, Junagarh, karamsad, Bhuj & Udaipur gathered outside the conference hall & enjoyed the delicious lunch. It was a great occasion to celebrate friendship, to meet old friends & to make new friends, on the eve

of friendship day.

The mood was jubilant, the weather was cool & romantic outside & the city has many tourist attractions even then, most of the delegates preferred to attend the conference & listened to the learned speakers for about three & half hrs, on very well chosen obstetric subjects. After the evening the MCM & GBM of SOGOG was held in a very cordial atmosphere. Everybody unanimously praised the organisers for organis ing such a wonderfu l conference in the city of lakes at such a wonderful venue. Delegates also appreciated the SOGOG office bearers for taking SOGOG to new heights & making it a big brand.

Then was the time for masti- dhamal .People danced to the tune of DJ till 11.30p.m.They were not ready to leave the dance floor even at 11.30 pm but rules & laws are to be followed. Many spent the time with old & new friends over cocktails & gala dinner. The evening was a great fun.

Next morning after enjoying variety breakfast, delegates were ready to attend academic session, which was very well attended from 10.00 am to 01.00 pm After giving justice to the delicious lunch & desert everybody departed with a desire in their heart to meet again & again for such a wonderful conference.

Memories of Udaipur Conference

Respected Dr. Mahesh Gupta & All other organisers,

I was delighted regarding the term used "midterm" SOGOG, because i had memories of our under graduation midterm vacation and it was come true on

rdthe auspicious day of 3 Aug.

All the expectation related with the academic activity were handled carefully and meaningful.

I am very much agreed with suggestions of Dr. Mahesh Gupta to choose faculties and their attire during GBM.

But I would like to criticise 2 things.

1. It can be done exclusively for members of gynaec society.

2. During the GBM : FOGSI was badly criticised from the dias. My opinion is very clear that, we should

lift the SOGOG to the height where FOGSI can not reach or dare to see the rise.

So next time we shall be careful to criticise from the dias on over enthusiasm.

After all the "midterm vacation with academic activity" great idea by organisers, congratulations and best luck for next programme.

Thanks

- Dr. Mahesh Jariwala (A’bad)

To,

President AOGS Dr. Mahesh Gupta

Secretary AOGS Dr. Phagun Shah and

Dr. Kiran Desai and AOGS Active Member Team.

It is my pride & privilege to congratulate you all for the grand success of Mid Term SOGOG Conference which was an unique conference in its own way. It was very well organised & managed nicely. Scientific sessions were very informative and entertainment part was also good.

Your hard work, deep interest and loyal efforts made this conference unforgettable. I know without Your sacifices in terms of

1) Your valuable time

2) Your family & social life

3) Your practice and

4) The financial loss you might have suffered

this conference would not have seen such a success.

This work was selfless & for no personal gains of yours. But you all worked hard for the betterment of AOGS. I salute you all for your sincere efforts, hard work and sacrifices which have made this conference a grand success.

Dr. Mahesh Gupta has given credit to all the members of Active Team AOGS and accepted any lacunae personally. This adds one more feather in his cap. He is the only president I have seen who gave all the credit to his team members.

Long live AOGS.

Sincerely yours in AOGS

- Dr. Harshad M. Ladola
