MicroStrategy Quick Guide: Sorting ITU Data Mart Support Group, Reporting Support
Sorting It’s possible to sort a report by any object available on the report.
Simple Sorting Use simple sorting either by right clicking on a header or using the title arrows.
Right Click
1. Run a report
2. Right click a column header, click “Sort” and choose “Ascending” or Descending”
Title Arrows
1. Run a report
2. Click the arrow next to the column to toggle the sort ascending or descending.

Advanced Sorting
Use advanced sorting to sort rows and/or columns by multiple fields.
1. Run a report
2. Click Data > Sort… to open the Advanced Sorting editor
3. Sort Rows
a. Click the “Row” tab header
b. Select the items to sort by and choose Ascending or Descending for each sort item
4. Sort Columns
a. Click the “Column” tab header
b. Select the items to sort by and choose Ascending or Descending for each sort item
