The St. Augustine Campus in Trinidad and Tobago was established in 1961 and in 1963 a third Campus was established at Cave Hill in Barbados. In 2008 The University established a fourth Campus – The Open Campus – to better manage and expand multi‐mode delivery of its programmes. OUR FACULTIES The seven Faculties of The UWI offer a wide range of Undergraduate, Master’s and Doctoral programmes in Food & Agriculture, Humanities & Education, Engineering, Law, Medical & Veterinary Sciences, Science & Technology, and Social Sciences. Campus Information Technology ServicesThe Campus Information Technology Services (CITS) is responsible for supporting the Campus Community in its implementation and use of Information Technology.

The Campus IT Services building houses the larger of two Main Equipment Rooms. These two Main Equipment Room (MER) installations interconnect via a newly installed multimode fibre connection, forming the heart of a dual star topology. This constitutes the backbone of the University’s Campus Area Network (CAN).

Campus IT Services currently supports the following software applications: MS Productivity Tools, Moodle, Oracle, Ellucian Banner, PeopleSoft, Adobe Contribute and Macromedia Dreamweaver.

Our enterprise Service Desk system is at the core of service fulfillment and incident management as we serve our campus community. Via our Service Desk system, our campus receives and resolves over twelve thousand (12,000) requests and incidents on an annual basis.

The position of Content Management Systems Administrator is based at the St. Augustine Campus. This role supports the Campus Web Team and reports to the Web Master.

Duties of the Content Management Systems AdministratorTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Ability to comprehend, analyze and research

problems of a complex nature, propose sound recommendations towards a solution and where empowered or delegated – make sound decisions

Ability to analyze complex production problems and select corrective actions

Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently when assigned by Manager

Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents and technical procedures

Ability to effectively write reports, present information and respond to questions from managers, members of staff and customers

Ability to solve practical problems Ability to communicate ideas to others in a clear and

precise manner Ability to build cordial, productive and healthy

working relationships within the team, department and organization

Evaluate documented resolutions and analyze trends for ways to prevent future issues and problems

Alert manager to emerging trends Project manage web-based development projects

and web applications Act as project lead in the design and review of web

related projects Assist in identifying any web related software training

for Campus users Deliver training on content management Design layouts for the University SharePoint sites Assist in participating and contributes to the design

of internal and external web pages Assist the Web Master in web-based development

projects and web applications Monitor the Service Desk tickets Attend internal meetings to provide input and

recommendations on issues that have an impact on the Campus stakeholders

Provide training to support for website content management systems

Maintain professional skills and expertise by attending seminars or courses

Must be available for on-call support for the Web Team

Assist the Web Master in Web-based development projects and web applications

Assist the Web Master in providing technical advice, content, design, and overall quality control of the University’s web pages

Support the University SharePoint 2010 or 2013 websites

Level 3 service desk support for web related matters Design, create and update internal and external web

pages Design layouts for the University SharePoint sites Remain current on the graphics and web

development communities including new HTML tags, browser specifications, graphic utilities and programs

Providing training and support for website content management systems

Special Responsibilities Working with the Webmaster and Web Developer in

administering the Internal and External websites of the St. Augustine Campus

Working with the web designer to move projects from design to production

Administering and conducting end user training for Campus SharePoint sites

Developing end user training manuals and videos in the use of Drupal

Assisting the web team with routine content updating tasks

Qualifications and ExperienceThe successful candidate must possess a B.Sc. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field

At least two (2) years hands-on experience in managing a large website and managing Microsoft SharePoint websites is required as well as experience in the following: Internet development with equivalent experience in

Web Design and Administration Drupal Content Management System Use of tools to create training and documentation

manuals and videos Working with a ticket based help desk system Two or more desktop publishing/imaging applications Windows (2008, 2008R2, 2012), MacOS, UNIX (Linux) Implementation and maintenance of website content

management systems

Personal Attributes

The Unit places high priority on individuals who can work well in a team environment. Candidates should also possess good communication and interpersonal skills. A good command of both oral and written English is essential. Candidates must also: Be creative and innovative Be familiar with working in tertiary level institutions Be willing to work flexible hours as and when required Be able to relate to a range of publics that includes

senior administrative and academic staff Be familiar with Adobe Contribute Have intermediate to advance proficiency in Microsoft

SharePoint 2010 or 2013 Have demonstrable knowledge of the use of tools to

create training and documentation manuals and videos

Be proficient in web design and graphics tools Understand the principles of Search Engine

Optimisation Understand dynamic or active web content and the

use of ASP.NET, PHP, ASP, and SQL Have working knowledge of networking technologies,

including security and encryption on the Internet, and basic networking concepts

Possess expertise in current Internet standards, including Web browsers and browser specifications

Have an in-depth knowledge of one or more current web mark-up or scripting languages: HTML, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, VBScript

Be able to clearly document all projects and to manage bug reports from staff efficiently

Be able to work with Mac and PC Be detail-oriented with the ability to work effectively

without supervision and to take responsibility for end-to-end delivery to the customer.

Have strong customer focus, including the commitment to operate outside regular hours and to work on call to resolve service-affecting problems and support the delivery of service to the Campus community.
