!Microcosmic Orbi In order to become a healer it is important to feel energy and the way it moves, to feel where it is stagnated and where it is absent. The first place we can learn to sense, direct and cultivate energy is in our own bodies. The microcosmic orbit breath (the Taoist breath) concentrates on the movement of energy that runs through our body. As we practice circulating this energy we become familiar with the qualities and ways it moves and through this practice we reinforce the ability to feel it in others and in situations around us. Prana flows in channels throughout the whole body. The two most important channels of these channels are the conceptual and governor meridians. The conceptual meridian runs down the front of the body, starting from the tip of the tongue, running down the throat, through the heart, stomach, and genitals. The governor meridian runs up the back of the body up starting from the tailbone, up the spine, into the brain, and back up to the roof of the mouth. The tongue is like a switch that connects these currents. www meditat.iaothai arg/images Practice: Bring the tip of the tongue to the upper palate of the mouth, in order to tap into the pituitary gland and connect the circuit of the microcosmic orbit. Inhale through the nostrils, down the front of the body. Feel the breath coming through the neck, the heart, the stomach, down to the genitals. As you exhale, gently squeeze the breath up the back of the spine, through the kidney area, all the way up to the back of the neck, and out through the sixth chakra. 1
