METRUM LTE SUPPORTS: VOLTAGE REDUCTIONUsing the MultiSpeak® standard, Metrum LTE integrates into Distribution Management Systems (DMS) or directly to SCADA through serial tunneling or pass-through communications. You can:

• Perform ‘what-if’ analysis to quantify investment for automation infrastructure and forecast ROI (when used with theiiDEAS platform voltage monitoring Value Added Module).

• Capture the instantaneous voltages or voltage logs in corresponding metrology devices.

• Incorporate hourly voltage data captured from TWACS® UMTs.

• Analyze loss analysis and voltage data (when used with the iiDEAS platform).

• Bring back time interval resolution in as little as two seconds (when used with the iiDEAS platform).

• Modulate line voltage or capacitor banks based on voltage from the AMI endpoints by using external Metrum moduleconnected to DNP ports of capacitor banks and tap changers.


OUTAGE DETECTIONUsing AMI’s last gasp functionality, Metrum LTE detects outages quickly and reliably because it’s built on the high-speed, public 4G LTE infrastructure. You can:

• Send AMI data to the OMS, where it can be combined with data from transformers, capacitor banks and fault detectors.

• Resolve issues at the circuit level with data from the fault circuit indicator.

• Get a complete picture of your network by combining data from endpoints in the distribution network.

THEFT DETECTIONWith more bandwidth and higher data fidelity, optimize the operations of your network. You can:

• Pinpoint sources of your nontechnical losses, such as meter tampering and illegal unmetered taps.

• Identify grid segments in need of optimization and upgrade because of technical losses due to aging or overloadedinfrastructure.

• Combine data from transformer sensors, consumption at the transformer level and substation level with activity at theend meter to generate better network management analytics (when used with iiDEAS platform the Loss and VoltageAnalysis modules).

TRANSFORMER MANAGEMENTUsing the secure, high-speed data connection, you can monitor the health of transformers and fix problems before outages occur. You can:

• Monitor and configure the state of transformers using data from transformer sensors and consumption at thetransformer and substation level (when combined with the iiDEAS platform).

• Determine transformers with high likelihood of imminent failure.

• Reliably monitor transformer failure rates via metrics such as primary/secondary ratios, heat and oil viscosity.
