Full-time undergraduate UIC students Members of Latin American Recruitment and Educational Services (LARES)Priority given to students not receiving significant funds from state grants like MAP, IVG, Illinois General Assembly, etc. that cover tuition costsPriority given to students who have not received the LARES tuition award beforeHolders of F-1 student visa NOT eligible

High achieving newly admitted freshmen or transfer student Illinois resident (parent and student)

Requirements for Consideration

Under age 24 Expected Family Contribution (EFC) must equal $0. Family income must be at or below the federal poverty level. Total family assets must be less than $50,000. Enrolled at least 12 hours during fall or spring semesters

Chicago area public high schools students Economically disadvantaged students Demonstrate financial need, strength of character, work ethic, academic

potential and desire to positively contribute to the community.

Requirements for Consideration

U.S. citizen or permanent resident Family income must be at or below the federal poverty level. Total family assets must be less than $40,000. Apply to UIUC Complete FAFSA, Chez application essays, along with two letters of

recommendation

Wentcher Foundation ScholarshipAward Amount: $30,000. $7,500 per year over 4 years

Eligible Candidates Chicago Public Schools graduating senior Students demonstrating financial need, talent, and character.

Requirements for Consideration U.S. citizenship or permanent resident Weighted GPA of 3.0 and an ACT 20 or higher CPS transcript and ACT/SAT scores (unofficial transcripts are accepted) Completed Wentcher Scholarship Application 2 Letters of Recommendation from individuals outside applicant’s family

attesting to suitability to be a Wentcher Scholar. Suggested reference letters come from a teacher, counselor, or college and career coach.

CPS Dream Fund Scholarship

Requirements for Consideration and Deadline Must be a DREAMer Minimum GPA of 3.0 and ACT score of 17 or higher Attend a Chicago public high school for at least three (3) years Application; Official transcript; ACT scores; Two essays; Proof of

household income; Letter of recommendation from a current teacher; Community service or volunteer service letter of recommendation; College acceptance and financial aid award letters
