BAHRAIN

As the historical centre of the region’s oil industry, Bahrain was the obvious location for the inaugural MEOS event in 1979 – the Gulf’s first oil and gas show. Over the last 36 years the exhibition has established a solid reputation as a high quality oil and gas industry event with a unique calibre of attendees.

MEOS consistently attracts NOCs, IOCs and major operators, in addition to specialist suppliers, distributors and numerous new entries to the Middle East market. The exhibition provides a unique opportunity to meet face to face with focused clients, whilst also providing brand exposure in one of the most important hydrocarbon regions in the world.

The Gulf’s vast hydrocarbon reserves continue to make it a hugely important region for the global petroleum industry. Managing those reserves effectively and increasing levels of production in targeted areas remains a key aspect of the Middle East’s economic future and international energy security. Bahrain was the first country in the Gulf to discover oil in 1932. This pioneering nation has been the meeting place for petroleum industry buyers and suppliers ever since thanks to its strategic location.

Saudi Aramco’s headquarters in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia is only a short drive away. In addition, the GCC states of Qatar, Oman, Kuwait and the UAE are all within a one-hour flight. Bahrain is also famed since

“We felt that MEOS was extremely valuable in getting our technology to the market in the Middle East region.”GASTRONICS

Of paramount importance to the continuing success of MEOS is its Middle East focused conference programme. Organised by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), the MEOS conference has evolved into the most respected technical event of its kind in the Gulf.

The SPE has unrivalled experience in organising petroleum conferences around the world and currently serves more than 104,000 members in 123 countries. At MEOS, their skills are complemented by unequivocal support from a committee of NOCs, IOCs and suppliers of products and services to the region. In 2015, the conference executive committee is co-chaired by Saudi Aramco and Petroleum Development Oman.

By providing highly technical presentations focused on current Middle East issues, the quality of delegates is exceptional and unique. Topical panel discussions featuring industry leaders, workshops, training courses and social activities offer participants even further opportunities to learn and integrate.
