Experience KOMU-TV, Columbia, MO May 2009-Present: I have worked as a general assignment dayside reporter, producer, production assistant and anchor.

I work as a one-man band dayside reporter: shooting, writing and editing my own stories. I shoot my own stand-ups and occasionally go on-set. On the average reporting shift I tweet several times throughout the shift, put together two VO/SOT/VOs, one PKG and a web story. I have reported on a wide variety of subjects from the community food drive, to a murder trial to breaking news. I produce a two and a half hour morning show, ten p.m. newscast and 6 p.m. newscast weekly. I anchor our National and World News segments using a touch screen map system. I also produce and anchor cut-ins to the TODAY show as well as fill in as a weekend anchor.

WTVF-TV, Nashville, TN June 2011-August 2011: As an intern at News Channel 5, I helped choose and writewire stories and local VO/SOTs for the 5 pm newscast. I took in viewers story ideas, helped reporters make calls on their stories, made beat calls, shot stand-ups, as well as shadowed reporters, producers and photographers.

Sciences-Po, Paris, France, January 2011-June 2011: As part of the journalism exchange program, I came upwith my own story ideas around Paris and the surrounding suburbs and then write 300-500 word stories each week.

Missouri Digital News, Jefferson City, MO January 2010-May 2010: As a political radio reporter inside theMissouri state I attended committee hearings, full session and sought out stories inside the Capitol during the legislative session. My work aired on KMOX, the CBS affiliate in St. Louis and KBIA-FM, the NPR affiliate in Columbia, MO.
