Objectives of the Division:
The Financial Division has responsibility for managing MEGT’s finances.
The Finance Division’s main objectives are to:
Support MEGT in achieving its goals
Ensure financial viability
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements in relation to financial matters
Ensure accountability and control
Ensure the efficient and effective use of resources.
Provide management information to assist with financial decision making
Contribute to the development of the financial strategy
Objectives of the Position:
This is a key role within MEGT (Australia) Ltd’s Finance Division. The primary focus of the role is managing the day to day financial accounting for MEGT and its subsidiary companies and to assist the Financial Controller to develop the financial accounting and compliance functions within MEGT.
Relationships:
Reporting to the Financial Controller
Work collaboratively as part of the Finance team
Work with internal management and staff in relation to financial and accounting issues, external
consultants, auditors, legal and tax advisors, bankers etc
Dimension:
Division: Finance
Selection Criteria:
University degree in commerce, finance or accounting
CPA or CA qualified
Previous experience in a financial accounting role for a large corporate
Strong statutory accounting experience and exposure to FBT, GST, Payroll & Income Tax
High level of IT literacy including advanced excel skills and a familiarity with Business Intelligence
and ERP systems
Experience with continuous improvement projects and the automation of financial processes
Attention to detail
Ability to work as part of a team

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes:
University degree in commerce, finance or accounting
CPA or CA qualified
Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge of accounting standards
Advanced excel skills
High level of IT literacy and familiarity with Business Intelligence and ERP systems
Strong focus on continuous improvement and automation of financial processes
Excellent communication skills
Attention to detail
Ability to work as part of a team
Show initiative
Ability to work autonomously
Professional presentation
Duties and Responsibilities:
(Note: The incumbent can expect to be allocated duties not specifically mentioned in this document, but within the capacity, qualifications and experience normally expected from persons occupying positions at this level.)
Completion of FBT return
Completion of income tax returns for subsidiary companies
Completion of payroll tax returns
Completion of BAS returns for MEGT and subsidiary companies
Completion of ABS Returns
Completion of WorkCover Insurance renewals
Assist develop financial policies, procedures, systems and processes
Continuous improvement and automation of financial processes will be a key focus of the role.
Management and development of the accounts payable team including the analysis of system to
improve efficiency
Assist develop the finance staff and financial systems of subsidiary companies.
Process journals and maintenance of journal register
Completion of month end close to strict timelines
Analysis and review of month end results, variances etc with the Financial Controller and CFO.
Maintenance of the chart of accounts for MEGT and subsidiary companies
Maintenance of the general ledger for MEGT and subsidiary companies
Completion of monthly balance sheet reconciliations to timelines
Identification and resolution of transaction and account issues
Maintenance of the fixed asset register
Preparation of acquittals of project funding
Assist with the completion of the full year statutory accounts

All financial reporting and lodgement deadlines met
Demonstrated contribution to the development of financial policies, procedures, systems and processes
Demonstrated contribution to the development of junior staff
