Four gold, two silver and one bronze award have been received from the Croatian National Tourist Board, confirming that the picturesque town of Daruvar is the most decorated small town in the continental part of Croatia. Three times in a row the town was declared as the best tourism destination, winning the ‘’Tourist flower – Quality for Croatia’’ award.
In 2013 Daruvar was chosen as the 1st runner-up in the European Destination of Excellence awards for ‘’Accessible Tourism’’. The combination of greenery and urban arhitecture, multiculturalism, fertile vineyards and friendly people are just some of the reasons that have contributed to these awards and titles.

DARUVAR – THE CRANE’S TOWNThe name of the town, Daruvar, has origins from theHungarian language, Daru – crane, var – town, and all because of the crane’s figure at the central position in the count Antun Janković coat of arms. While thecrane stands on one foot, it holds a rock as a symbol of eternal vigilance while on guard duty. By building a baroque castle on a small hill above the town center count Antun Janković named the castle Daruvar, which in the second half of the 18th century broadened to the settlement which was developed around it.

• Julius’ Park (Julijev Park) is one of the oldest spa parks in continental Croatia, which contains baths from the 18th and 19th century (Antun’s bath, Antun’s spring and Ivan’s spring, Swiss villa, Marija’s bath, Villa Arcadia, Central Mud Bath and a brozne statue made by sculptor Antun Augustinčić called „Female Bather“ (Kupačica).
