The media distributor I have decided to use is Bauer media group.

The reason I chose to pick this one is because it operates in 15 different countries, so it gives my magazine great potential to expand into other parts of the world. Also, because they already distribute magazines such as heat and Kerrang, they sell over 38 million copies a week. Furthermore, within there collection of magazines they already distribute, I have found that they don’t really have a pop magazine which represents them as a group, so my magazine Forever Pop would be a great magazine for them to represent. As, they don’t have a pop magazine at the moment in there media group, I feel that there is a great opportunity for my magazine to sell alongside other genres of music magazines. There is a great potential to branch out into TV and radio, like Q have and my magazine has the potential to go all the way. Bauer is a large distributing company and so unlike distributors of Shindig who aim at a niche market, my magazine will have a large audience to appeal to.

Although, I picked Bauer media, I also considered BBC magazines as they are a very successful with already publishing Top of the Pops which is one of the uk’s most popular pop magazines.

Top of the pops started back in February 1995, and it famous for giving The Spice Girls there nicknames. Top of the Pops is the magazine I used as a style model, so I went against BBC Magazines because I think there would be too much competition between Top of the Pops and my magazine. At Bauer Media, my magazine has a better chance of being popular as there stand our pop magazine.

Where do I think my magazine should be sold?I think my magazine should be sold in big franchises, and supermarkets so that my magazine is seen my a bigger market.

Places like WH Smith, Asda, Tesco and various other supermarkets.

People visit these stores regularly so my magazine will be seen more often and by more people and a wider variety of people as well. I may also, target my magazine to be sold in smaller newsagents where people tend to go just for a magazine, and so my magazine will be seen by a more specific audience then.
