MY PROJECT

I have chose brief 1 .My project is called Me, myself and I, which will be a personal profile type of animation . My project idea will feature playful hand-illustrated typography animated over live-action footage of me with some rotoscoping animation included.

Similar moving illustrated type as shown above with my

ANIMATION STYLES

There are a few styles that I came across whilst researching that I like. I really like the kinetic typography displayed over video footage which I think looks really cool. I gathered some inspiration and ideas from researching movie credits such as Bewitched, Star Wars, Juno etc. I will use this animation style over video footage of myself. A part of my idea is to also include some rotoscoping in the video footage of me.

Catch me if you can movie credits is a great example!

STORY OVERVIEW

The main story overview of my animation will be basically all about myself, my hobbies interests, family etc. The animation will start of with a kinetic typographic page with my name and facts about myself etc. (all in motion) it will then slide into video footage of photographs of me and the main people in my life (family & friends) .

The next part of my animation will be a about my hometown Newry. My idea for this will include sketches of the outline of main landmarks within the city . The last two slides will include video footage of me walking and standing still with kinetic type and rotoscoping . I will include facts and more information about me with the typography.

INSPIRATION- JUNO THE MOVIE OPENINGAn inspirational animation video I found was Juno the movie opening. Although my idea is quite different to this animation I found it very captivating and unusual. It gave me a few ideas for my animation with the sketchy typography and rotoscoping ideas.

PROJECT PLANI have below set a project plan to help me with my time management over the Christmas holidays so I can develop and progress on with my work in realistic time.

Week 1: This week I will have finished the completed storyboards, research etc. I will have completed a few test tutorials to get me familiar with it all. I will know exactly what I am doing for my final animation with feedback from the teacher and classmates.

Week 2: This week I will shoot my video for my animation and beginning editing and using aftereffects to start including my animated typography..

Page 9: Me, Myself & i

Week 3: I will continue working on my animation project within Aftereffects as it can be quite time consuming. I will start to rotoscope my final frames as this takes time.

Week 4: I will ask feedback from family and friends on my work so far. I will make any necessary changes required and keep working on final stages.

Week 5: In my final week I will finish completing my animation and make sure it is saved in the correct format and ready for submission.

TUTORIALS I WILL TEST OUT

As a part of my project planning and to kick start my progression of my animation I will make sure to complete a few tutorials in the first week of my project to get myself familiar with all of tools within this software. It will help give me ideas and develop a better knowledge and understanding of the available tools and techniques that can be used within the Adobe Aftereffects software which will overall hopefully lead to making my final animation the best it can possibly be.
