Matthew 6:9-15
9After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11Give us this day our daily bread.

12And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
14For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
15But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses

#1 Spiritual death is “death by sin”
“Sin is the death of the soul. A man dead in trespasses and sins has no desire for spiritual
pleasures.”

“When in Rome, do as the Romans do.”

3. Sinners walk according to the prince of the power of the air, the devil.

4. Sinners live to please the lusts of their flesh.
It is like being held at gun-point by sin. Do you give in and please your flesh?

5. Sinners are by their very nature, “Objects of Wrath”.
“The heart of man is desperately wicked, who can understand it?”
Three Characteristics of New Life
1. It is a “God initiated life”
Every day, every moment, we rely on the Goodness and Grace of Jesus, through His
sacrifice on the cross for this NEW LIFE.

2. We experience a new reality with God. Before we had no interest in Spiritual things.
Now we are IN CHRIST and our heart is to live a life that is pleasing to Him.

3. Now we live a grace filled life, thanks to Jesus.
We are no longer slaves to our flesh or to the devil, we have a new master. A loving FATHER who
has rescued us from punishment.
Next Steps
Over the next week I am going to memorize Ephesians 2:8
8For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9not by works, so that no one can boast.
I am going to examine my life, using Ephesians 2 as my guide and make a list of things I need to change and commit to bring those things to Jesus in prayer.
