Matsushita - Innovative Automation SoftwareSoftware development is the key to future success. Matsushita recognized this very early on, and began developinga variety of new, innovative automation software products. In1994, for example, our PLC programming software was among thefirst on the market to meet the International Standard IEC 61131-3. Today it is still one of the most advanced and user-friendly PLCprogramming software packages available. Our HMI softwareGKWIN is the best established tool on the market, offering a gre-ater range of features than most other systems. Our latest soft-ware targets Ethernet configuration and communication, and of-fers outstanding new features.

Matsushita Automation SoftwareMORE QUALITY – FASTER PROJECT DEVELOPMENT

Save Time - Reuse existing Automation SoftwareIt’s expensive to create new software for each new automationproject. Our concept avoids the need to develop each projectfrom scratch. Matsushita offers several software libraries andfunction blocks, which incorporate enormous know-how. Ourcustomers can reuse this existing software and spend less timeon programming, debugging and learning a range of special newtechniques. Customers can also program their own functionblocks and make their own libraries. This will save considerabletime and make development much faster. The machines finallybecome more powerful and, thanks to the reduced developmenttime, more competitively priced, with a lower time to market.

Matsushita - High Quality Automation SoftwareSoftware is not just a diskette or a CD-ROM, which is easily co-pied. The quality comes from our definition of functionality, relia-bility, usability, efficiency and user-friendliness. Matsushita hasvery high development standards and procedures for softwaredevelopment, as well as the latest development tools and highlyskilled engineers. Our testing periods allow the essential time forproving the functionality and reliability. Our quality also applies tothe inclusive features and customer service, in which our targetis to be the best in the market. The international standard IEC9126 shows how software quality can be evaluated.

– SAFE INVESTMENT – MORE SUCCESS

Automation Software offers more FlexibilityIn the past, the features of machines were hardware-orientedand it took quite a long time to make changes. Today’s tendencyin automation is increasingly software-oriented. Hardware issimply the platform for running the software. It’s much easier tocorrect errors or add new features to a machine if only the soft-ware has to be modified. More and better products can be madein a much shorter time. In addition, Matsushita offers develop-ment tools with more advanced functionality, to support high-quality programming and faster development.

Automation Software - Choose the Right PartnerBefore deciding on a product or a company, it’s very importantto check that there will be continuing satisfactory cooperationin the future too. This will safeguard your investment. The following questionsshould be in an investigative check list:■ How many features does the automation software offer?■ Is the product innovative and will it follow the technical

trends?■ Is the software user-friendly - can all your staff handle it?■ How long will the product be available and updated?■ How good is the service from the supplier?■ What will happen if you need special functions or special

service?■ Are there international standards that the product

has to meet?■ Is global service available? Automation
