First, make sure that you have a peaceful place where you won’t be interrupted. Sit on the floor with the legs crossed and spine straight keeping the body relaxed. You may choose to sit on a pillow or, alternatively, in a chair with the weight of both feet equally distributed on the ground. Keep the neck straight and the chin level with the floor. It is important not to curve the neck back. Keep your whole body, includ- ing the face, relaxed while sitting in the posture. Follow the instructions included for each specific mantra. For all meditations: Breath deeply through the nose. Continue for 3 to 62 minutes. When finished, inhale deeply. Hold briefly. Exhale and relax. You may also choose to sing along with the music. The legacy of Mantra and Mudra and the sacred science of the sound current was shared and codified by Yogi Bhajan, Master of Kundalini Yoga, and PHD in the psychology of communication. Each of these musical meditations opens an inner gateway to your spirit. They reach beyond limi- tations to tap the sacred power of the Word. The use of special hand and eye positions with the mantra is called “mudra”. Each mudra is a “seal”. It enhances, speeds and assures the impact of the mantra. The beautiful songs in this album provide the rare opportunity to hear Yogi Bhajan’s profound and graceful English interpretations of sacred Gurumukhi mantras. In 1998, Yogi Bhajan personally requested that these specific man- tras be put to music and recorded. In the process of creating the music, he provided poetic English translations that capture the essence of the mantra as well as specific mudras to heighten their effect. This collection of mantras reminds us of our grace and sacredness allowing us to move through life with greater ease, assurance and peace. Adi Shakti - 6:13 Invoke the guidance, nurturance, creativity and protection of Adi Shakti, the source of female energy from the beginning of time. Release insecurities and open yourself to receive blessings from the Mother of life. Rakhay Rakhanahaar - 9:07 These are the last eight lines of a traditional prayer recited at sunset to restore radiance and replenish energy at the end of a busy day. Rakhay Rakhanahaar grants protection and brings remembrance of our relationship with Divinity. Aad Sach Jugaad Sach Haibhay Sach - 6:33 The recitation of this mantra can cut through time and space, healing and removing all blocks. When aspects of your life seem stuck or unyielding, this chant has the power to move heaven and earth. Oothai Tayree Rakh Aganee - 9:34 Heal the pain of the heart and restore hope. In ancient scriptures, it is said that the recitation of this mantra can purify the body and mind. Chay Ghar Chay Gur Chay Upadays - 8:08 This majestic mantra allows the listeners to access and develop their own great- ness. It is said that this song is so powerful that you need nothing else. Aad Sach Jugaad Sach Haibhee Sach - 7:34 This mantra awakens our deep, natural connection to truth as our original source and identity. It allows us to bring this reality to ourselves & our environments. Aad Guray Nameh - 7:45 Aad Guray Nameh is a prayer to uphold and protect us even in the midst of all the activities of our busy and complicated lives. This mantra clears the clouds of doubt by reminding us that we are Divinely guided through each and every action. Special thanks: Yogi Bhajan for his tireless support, consultation and inspiration.
