ObjectivesThe Master of Public Administration (MPA) program is designed to prepare students for a leadershipcareer within private, nonprofit, and public service organizations and communities. To prepare studentsfor leadership careers in public administration, the program focuses on the regulatory, political,economic, social, and cultural environments and the theories and concepts that influence managementand evaluation of diverse public service organizations, programs and processes; presents socialentrepreneurial and business approaches to public service issues and opportunities at the state, countyand local levels of government; and emphasizes adherence to the values and ethical principles of thepublic administration profession in all aspects of public service. The Masters of Public Administrationprogram curriculum is based on the current accreditation standards set forth by the National Associationof Schools of Public Affairs and Administration (NASPAA).
Requirements and PrerequisitesYou'll need 36 credits to complete this program, which may be earned from a combination of requiredand elected courses. However, required courses may vary based on previous experience, training ortransferable credits.
