Priest’s message This Sunday's readings present an important, albeit very delicate, theme of love for others. It is a matter of fraternal correction; In other words, how to correct others according to the instructions given to us by Jesus in the Gospel of St. Matthew. It is the obligation of all those who have dependents: parents, educators, superiors, shepherds of the people of God, etc. of correcting, of not letting go of the faults that must be corrected, but of doing it how the Lord tells us so clearly in this gospel. Remember, brothers, when we miss a law, a demand or some advice from God, things go wrong, and their conse-quences are both spiritual, as materials, and-even if we do not realize-are for few and are for many. Indeed, if we do not follow the steps that Jesus himself gives us in this gospel, the negative consequences are felt and suf-fered right away. By the way, this advice of Jesus is applicable both to the spiritual plane and to everyday situations that can be presented to us. Jesus gives us very accurately how we should correct each other. First step: "If someone commits a sin, admonish alone." Second step: "If you don't listen to it, do it in front of two or three witnesses." Step three: "If you don't listen to them, tell the community." Fourth step: "If you don't even listen to the community, stay away from him." Experience shows that when we correct another or others in a way different from this order that the Lord tells us, problems are created, because the corrected one feels unjustly attacked. For example, if you alter the order and make the second or third step of first, it is interpreted that you have done a gossip. If you make the fourth step, without going through the other three, you are lacking charity, because even if the person to correct is guilty of something, you can not walk away without giving any explanation or at least understand why you're moving away. Now... What do you mean by "depart from Him"? Does not mean to despise the person, not meet or not to greet him/her. Depart means to differentiate the sins of the sinner. mensaje del Padre Las lecturas de este Domingo nos presentan un tema importante, aunque muy delicado, del amor al prójimo. Se trata de la corrección frater-na; es decir, de cómo corregir a los demás de acuerdo a las instrucciones que nos da Jesús en el Evangelio de San Mateo.

Se trata de la obligación de todos aquéllos que tienen personas a su cargo: padres de familia, educadores, superiores, pastores del pueblo de Dios, etc. de corregir, de no dejar pasar las faltas que deben ser corregidas, pero de hacerlo cómo nos lo indica tan claramente el Señor en este Evange-lio. Recordemos, hermanos, cuando faltamos a una ley, a una exigencia o a algún consejo de Dios, las cosas salen mal, y sus consecuencias son tanto espirituales, como materiales, y -aunque no nos demos cuenta- son para pocos y son para muchos. En efecto, si no se siguen los pasos que el mismo Jesús nos da en este Evangelio, las consecuencias negativas se sienten y se sufren enseguida. Por cierto, este sapientísimo consejo de Jesús es aplicable tanto al plano espiritual, como a situaciones cotidianas que se nos pueden presentar.

Jesús nos da con mucha precisión la forma como debemos corre-girnos unos a otros. Primer Paso: “Si alguien comete un pecado, amonés-talo a solas”. Segundo Paso: “Si no te hace caso, hazlo delante de dos o tres testigos”. Tercer Paso: “Si ni así te hace caso, díselo a la comunidad”. Cuarto Paso: “Si ni a la comunidad le hace caso, apártate de él”.

La experiencia muestra que cuando corregimos a otro u otros de una manera distinta a este orden que nos indica el Señor, se crean proble-mas, pues el corregido se siente atacado injustamente. Por ejemplo, si alteras el orden y haces el segundo o tercer paso de primero, se interpreta que has hecho un chisme. Si haces el cuarto paso, sin pasar por los otros tres, estás faltando a la caridad, pues aunque la persona a corregir sea culpa-ble de algo, no puedes alejarte sin darle alguna explicación o sin que al menos entienda por qué te estás alejando.

Ahora bien... ¿qué significa “apartarse de él”? No significa despreciar a la persona, no tratarla o no saludarla. Apartarse significa diferenciar el pecado del pecador. Significa, ante todo, no seguir sus proposiciones, ni sus caminos. Pues bien, no siempre depende de nosotros el buen resultado de la corrección, pues a veces, aún siguiendo el orden que el Señor nos da, el otro puede rechazarla. Por el contrario, depende siempre de nosotros el buen resultado, cuando somos nosotros los corregidos. El dejarse corregir es un deber tan importante, como corregir.

Es verdad que podemos y de hecho a veces tenemos la obligación de juzgar un hecho, una acción, una actitud para hacernos un criterio moral sobre algo que observamos no está bien. Estamos, entonces, juzgando un hecho. Lo que no podemos hacer es juzgar a la persona, mucho menos condenarla. Con la persona, con el pecador, misericordia. El Señor concluye su consejo recomendando la oración entre dos o más. “Yo les aseguro también que si dos de ustedes se ponen de acuerdo para pedir algo, sea lo que fuere, mi Padre Celestial se lo concederá”. En conclusión: 1.) Una cosa es juzgar el pecado y otra cosa es juzgar al pecador. 2.) No debemos estar juzgando a todo el mundo, pero los que tiene respon-sabilidad no pueden evadir la corrección cuando sea necesario hacerla. 3.) Pero para que todo salga bien al corregir, para corregir de acuerdo a Dios, debemos corregir siguiendo los pasos de la corrección fraterna que el mismo Señor nos dejó. 4.) Estar pendiente de nuestros defectos, faltas y pecado, más que de los de los demás. 5.) No debemos olvidar orar para que el pecador enmiende su vida.

These benefit priests and seminarians in our Diocese with special needs and projects. Calendars may be found in the back of each

parish church.

Any payment that is needed to be given for any Sacrament please pay at the office. This allows for us to keep better track of pay-

ments and allows you to obtain a receipt for your records. We will also be giving a $10.00 charge for Sacramental Copies, meaning if you lost/damaged a baptism/1st Communion/Confirmation or Mar-riage certificate and need a new one from the office you will incur

this charge. Thank you!
