He refused to believe Hitler was what Hitler clearly was. He refused to listen to the prophetic warnings of Winston Churchill. He wanted to avoid war so passionately that he refused to believe war was inevitable. His hesitation, waffling and lack of preparation almost cost the allies the war and imperiled millions of lives. You can’t win a war you refuse to believe you are in. You can’t win a war if you don’t know who your enemy is. You can’t win a war if you don’t know what kind of war you are in. You can’t win a war if you have no idea what your enemy’s tactics are. World War II had to be fought. Hitler was intent on world domination and the mass murder of mental patients, the weak, entire races and all who resisted him. Hitler had to be stopped; nothing short of total war could stop him. Christians, like it or not are in total war every minute of their lives. Christians must wage total war with the world - the influence of secular culture that undermines and dismisses God and godliness. Christians must wage total war with their own flesh - their own predisposition to sin and they must wage constant, total war with the devil. Yes, there is a devil and he is an implacable foe. There is no peace possible with Satan or sin. Prayer, Scripture, faith, discipline, the power of the Holy Spirit and obedience are just some of the weapons with which Christians battle for their faith. The war is real; the war is to the finish and the stakes include eternity. God will win and any sacrifice demanded of us is worthwhile. Believe it. Pastor Ted

TODAY’S MESSAGE: Easter 2013: Kingdoms in Conflict

OUR INNER

C MPASS Neville Chamberlain is a sad historical footnote to the horrors of a devastating world war.

Believe it.
