Designed by Alessandro Mendini, with consulting by gastronomy expert Alberto Gozzi, the “Tegamino” pan satisfies the needs of cooking, serving and eating a simple and delicate food: eggs. “Tegamino” reflects its function in its form: its silhouette is reminiscent of the shape of an egg, removed from its shell and waiting in the pan to be cooked. Made from trilaminate with a stainless steel lid, the “Tegamino” pan is ideal for cooking eggs efficiently, and even for special preparation methods like cooking in water. Its stylish design adds to the pleasure of eating eggs directly from the pan, a gesture that celebrates a simple but rich popular tradition, promotes conviviality and enhances the flavours of yesteryear.

The “Bark” collection has now been joined by the “Barknest” basket, an object that, in name and form, recalls a cosy nest with rounded walls for holding and safeguarding precious contents.

Characteristics / Suggested use. -Produced at the company's factory in Crusinallo, Omegna, like the other objects in the collection, this round basket fromthe “Bark” range demonstrates Alessi’s skill in processing steel. Through various processing stages, metal sheet is cut,laser perforated, bent and finally welded to obtain the organic and sinuous shape desired by the designers. Unrivalledmanufacturing expertise is needed to use steel to create an object on to which organic and natural memory can beenimpressed.-Its compact dimensions allow the “Barknest” basket to be used in various contexts: in the kitchen, at table or on a desk.-The highly expressive design of this object enhances any room where it is displayed.-A container for holding what is precious.

Designed by Michel Boucquillon and Donia Maaoui, the “Bark” collection was inaugurated in 2015 with the namesake centrepiece. The designers drew their inspiration from their home, Casa Boucquillon: a place for experimentation, meditation and work where they live in sync with nature. The perforated pattern of the “Bark” range recalls the bark on the trees around the house. The result is a strongly poetic collection where every individual object proves to be, either in shape or in function, in continuous and harmonious dialogue with nature.

Product description

The “K-Block” Knife block was conceived as a rigid case, with two hinged parts that open up like a book. Each part has a slit in the top, where the knife blade is inserted (like a traditional block). The book-style opening means the Block can be kept open during use, making it easier to find the knife you need. It also means the inside of the Block can be easily accessed for regular cleaning. Magnets beneath the vertical wooden wall of the Block ensure that the blades inside remain firmly in place. The Block is made of laminated bamboo - a wood that’s highly stable and moisture-resistant. “K-Block” is designed to hold the “Tatau” 5-Knife range, while still leaving space for additional knives or others that you may already have in the kitchen.Metaproject notes

The “K-Block” knife block is the larger version of the book-style block conceived by the same designers (“Milky Way Minor”, 2011) and, like its smaller counterpart, has little magnets that hold the blades in place inside the wooden frame.

ナイフブロック

“K-Block” ナイフブロックは、２つのパーツがちょうつがいで留められ、本のように開くことが出来る四角いケースです。それぞれの上部にスリットが開けられているので、そこに刃を差し込んでナイフを収納します。本のように開く理由は２つ。１つ目は使用中に開けておくことで、お目当てのナイフがどこに刺さっているかすぐにわかるようにと、２つ目はケース内部のお手入れがしやすいように。また、ケースが勝手に開いてしまう恐れのないようマグネットが仕込まれています。ケースの素材は竹。安定して湿気にも強い竹材を何層にも張り合わせて出来ています。“K-Block” は “Tatau” シリーズのナイフ向けにデザインされたものですが、お手持ちのナイフにもお使い頂けます。
