Lighthouse on Block Island

1875 to help light the way for boats coming into harbor from the Atlantic Ocean.

Although I was originally built 300 feet from the Mohegan Bluffs, I was moved away 250 feet more because the Atlantic waves crashing into the bluffs were quickly eroding the land away.
