NOTE:lcohol-blendedue{ absorbs moisture(water). As little as 1% moisture {n thefuel can cause fuel and oil to separateand form acids when stored. If alcohol-blended fuel must be used, use freshfuel (less than 60 days old), and mixaccording to the mixing instructions.

DEFINITION OF BLENDED FUELSToday's fuels are often a blend of gasoline andone or more oxygenates such as ethanolmethanol or MTBE (ether).USE OF BLENDED FUELSif you choose to use a blended fuel or its useis unavoidable, the following precautions arerecommended.1. Always use fresh fuel mix per youroperetor's manual.2. Use the special additive STA-BIL or

an equivalent,3. Always agitate the fuel mix before fuelingthe unit.4. Drain the tank and run the engine dry

    before storing the unit.

WARNING: Gasoline is extremelylammable and its vapors can explodeif they are ignited.Always stop theengine and allow it to cool beforefilling the fuel tank. Do not smokewhile filling the tank. Keep sparks andopen flames away from the area.

WARNING: Remove fuel cap slowlyto avoid injury from fuel spray.

USE OF FUEL ADDITIVESThe use of fuel additive, such as STA-BILGas Stabilizer or an equivalent, will inhibitcorrosion and minimize the formation of gumdeposits. Add 0.8 oz (23 ml) per gallon of fuelper instructions on container. NEVER add fueladditives directly to the unit's fuel tank. Usinga fuel additive can keep fuel fresh for up to six(6) months.

,i_ CAUTION: For pmpar engine operationnd maximum reliability, pay strictattention to the oil and fuelmixinginstructions on the 2-cycle oil container,Use a 32:1 fuel/o, ret_o.Use 2-cycleoil. Using improperly mixed fuel canseverelydamage the engine.

OIL AND FUEL MIXING INSTRUCTIONSThoroughly mix the proper ratio of unleadedgasoline with 2-cycle engine all in a separatefuel can, 32:1. Do not mix them directly in theengine fuel tank. See the table below forspecific gas and oi!mixing ratios.

ADJUSTING TRIMMING LINE LENGTHYour trimmer is equipped with a bump head thatallows the operator to release more trimmingline without stopping the engine; To releaseadditional line, lightly tap the trimming head onthe ground (Fig, 10) while operating the trimmerat high speed,NOTE: Always keep the trimming line fullyextended. Line release becomesmote difficult as cutting linebecomes shorter,

Rg. 10Each time the head is bumped, about 1 in(25,4 ram) of tdmmlng line is released. A bladein the string guard will cut the line to the properlength if excess line is released.

For best results, tap the head on bare ground orhard soil. If line release is attempted in tall grass, the engine may stall.

,_ CAUTION: Do not remove or altarhe line cutting blade assembly.Excessiveline length will causeclutch to overheat and may resulttn serious personal injury.DECORATIVE TRIMMINGDecorative trimming is accomplished byremoving all vegetation around trees, posts, fences, etc.Rotate the entire unit so that the string head isat a 30 angle to the ground (Fig. 11),
