GS-flaring technologyGS-Hydro has develop a number of machines designed for cold
flaring of tubes and pipes from 6 to 608 mm in diameter. The
machines are suitable for the flaring of a wide range of materials
including carbon and stainless steel, copper-nickel etc.
All the machines use a ’rolling cone’ method to achieve a perfect
surface finish which is suitable for JIC-37° and GS-37° and GS-90°
Flare Flange Systems.
GS-Flaring machines are available from light, portable machines to heavy-duty factory-type machines for the flaring of the following
tube and pipe sizes:
1. Flaring starts by clamping the pipe
or tube in the correct size dies, and
applying a small amount of oil or grease.
2. The 37° cone rotates around a central
axis as it is pushed against the tube or
pipe and this process flares out the tube
or pipe into the die.
3. To make a 90° flare a different tool
flattens out the 37° flare.

GSP-Flaring MachinesThe portable GSP-machines will permit on-site production of
flange collars (37° and 90°) for both installation and repair jobs.
These lightweight machines are operated by air and are thus
ideal to work in fire-protected areas in offshore or similar ap-
plications.
GSP-machines can flare various pipe materials: Carbon steel,
stainless steel and Cu/Ni.

GS-FlarePower -seriesGS-Hydro offers a range of three different FlarePower-machines,
designed for cold flaring of tubes and pipes from 6 mm up to
275 mm in outside diameter. FlarePower-machines are suitable
for 37° and 90° flaring of a wide range of materials, including
carbon steel, stainless steel and copper-nickel alloys. All machines
are using the “rolling-cone” method in order to achieve perfect
surface finish to JIC-37° fittings and GS-37°/GS-90° Flare Flange
connections.

GSF-seriesThe GSF range of flaring machines have been developed for
heavy duty flaring of larger tube and pipe sizes in carbon steel,
stainless steel and copper alloys.
The GSF-220 N-F/FHD is utilised for 37° and 90° flaring of tubes
and pipes from 20 to 220 mm in diameter. The controls of the
machine are easy to use and a gauge shows the flaring pressure.
A full set of flaring cones is located on the machine. The flaring

head and power unit can easily be separated allowing easy trans-
portation. Additionally, by connecting the units with hydraulic
hoses flaring can be carried out in hazardous areas such as on an
oil drilling rig.
The GSF-400 N-E and GSF-600 N-E machines are larger and
heavier in order to cope with cold flaring of tubes and pipes
with diameters as large as 400 mm and 600 mm respectively.

GSF-flaring machines with automatic working circuit
Automatic working circuit -seriesGS-Hydro´s GSF-28A, GSF-42A and GSF-65A are flaring machines
with automatic working circuit and touch panel programming.
Those machines are designed for serial production, and it is
very easy to achieve perfect sealing surface into various piping
materials.
Flaring operation is done by using GS-Hydro´s rolling cone
method. This ensures exact, defect free and mirror like sealing
surface. All power functions are electro controlled, and because
of universal stopper adjustment this machine can be used also
for other types of pipe connections than GS-37° flare only.

Automated production of template pipes
The fabrication of template pipes is one of the most time
consuming and cost-intensive job routings in the shipbuilding
and offshore industry. Optimisation of these job routings can be
achieved by means of automatization.
Our unique system solution provides automated and economic
production of template pipes without the need of making
any pattern or mockup. It was specially developed in order to
streamline the job routings when fabricating template pipes.
The geometry of the template pipe is measured quickly and
precisely on-site (e.g. on board ship) with a 3D isometry system.
This device consists of plug-in elements, which are built-in
between two connecting points (flanges or sleeves) according
to the planned pipe course. Via notebook and the included
measuring software the planned pipe course is evaluated directly
on site.
If the pipe has to be installed between two flanges, even the
verification of the fitting and welding of the flanges to the pipe
can be done in the pipe workshop. This tasks are enabled by an
electromechanical 3D positioning device, which simulates the
exact installation situation in the pipe workshop. The system
carries out a three-dimensional seek of two flanges according to
the on-site flange situation measured before.
The template pipe now can be positioned between the flanges
and tacked to them.
The template pipe is transported to the jobsite with a maximum
grade of prefabrication. It only has to be mounted between
the flanges. Because of very high accuracies of both devices and
the possibility to carry out collision checks already during the
measurement of the pipe isometry, all template pipes measured
and fabricated by this system can be inserted on-site at perfect
fit.
Software
Software solutions for the piping industry
Besides the machine technology our product range contains
a complete software solutions for piping, which supports the
whole digital chain of a pipe’s lifecycle. This means integration
of engineering, procurement, production, installation, operating
and maintenance for pipe systems. The software pack combines
the generation of isometric drawings, the work preparation and
the production control for the pre-production of pipes.
It organizes the material and time management and supplies all
the required production documents for the pipe workshop.
In combination with ERP/MRP-systems, PDM-systems and
especially standard accountancy systems, all data and isometrics
necessary for carrying out the project and its control are
produced, working packs are created, production times and
costs are determined, additional material is calculated and
work schedules are set up. All results for project and data
management, quality control and NC machine triggering are
available as automated, machine-readable files.
Remarkable reduction of working expenditure and production
times will result from a flexible use of these easy-to-handle
and practice oriented application solutions, thus leading to
considerable cost savings in the whole piping process.

Cleaning System
Jet CleanerFor tubes and hoses
System is based on mechanical cleaning by ”shooting” a polymer
foam plug through pipes and hoses with compressed air.
The cleaning plugs is approx. 20% larges than the i.d. of the
hose/pipe. The compressed plug will rotate, -and absorb, “on it’s
way”, dirt and other impurities from the inside walls on tubes/
hoses. When repeating this operation twice, a normal cleanli-
ness-requirement is will be achieved.

aluminium and fully anodized for harsh environments and
