This is the same as a driving test which is administered to assess your flying skills. The exam is conducted by an FAA authorized examiner. How much does it cost to become a pilot? One of the most frequently asked question on how to be a pilot is How much does it cost to complete flying school? There are several factors which may determine the amount of money spent in becoming a pilot. For example, location plays a huge factor on the cost charged by flying schools. If the school is located in a rural area, you are most likely to pay less compared to a school situated in an urban area. Other factors that may influence the amount of money spent in a flying academy are: - The type of aircraft used in the training. - The kind of weather experienced during the training session. - Your pace of learning. In general, pilot training costs at least $10,000. Nevertheless, this amount can shoot through the ceiling if you are training in a flying school located in an urban area.
