HOLY WEEK - ’THE GREAT WEEK!’ This week we contemplate the Passion of Christ and seek to understand the mercy of the cross. These days in Holy Week are unique in the liturgical year and their celebration is of the utmost importance in the spiritual and pastoral life of the Church. Let us therefore fully prepare our hearts and minds for the Paschal mystery by going to the Sacrament of Reconciliation and participating fully in the Holy Week liturgies as a way of coming to the joys of the Resurrection at Easter with uplifted and welcoming hearts.

MAUNDY THURSDAY: 29th March Holy Mass at 7.30pm Our Lady & St. Illtyd followed by “the Watch” in the Parish Centre and ending with Night Prayer at 10:00pm. Jesus’ washing of the feet left us an example that we are to love each other through humble service, therefore 12 people are invited, ideally 6 from Cowbridge & 6 from Llantwit, to have their feet washed at this Mass. Please pray for JACOB SCOTT who will be commissioned as an Extra-Ordinary Minister of Holy Communion. All Parish Eucharistic Ministers will be recommissioned on the feast of Corpus Christi, 3rd/4th June. GOOD FRIDAY a day of fasting & abstinence. A COLLECTION will be taken after the Veneration of the Cross for the upkeep of the Holy Places and the support of Christians who are remaining in the Holy Land sometimes in the midst of great opposition and deprivation. EASTER VIGIL: Easter is the original feast, and this vigil is ‘the mother of all vigils’. It is thus the most solemn, special and sacred celebration of the whole liturgical year. You are encouraged to join with your Parish Family on this special and sacred night to welcome the risen Christ.
