Carefully read the specifications below to ensure that you are installing qualifying products. All PG&E incentives apply towards the purchase of new or replacement energy-efficient equipment. Used orrebuilt equipment is not eligible, and customers must include proof that the appliances meet all the required energy efficiency specifications. Please note that funding for these programs is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis until allocated funds are exhausted or the program ends, whichever comes first. This program may be modified or terminated without prior notice, and additional terms and conditions apply.

For our most up-to-date catalogs, please visit www.pge.com/businessrebates. Please visit www.pge.com/led to get more information on all of our LED incentives.

General Requirements• Installation address must have a commercial electric

account with Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E).

• All components must be installed and operational before a rebate application is submitted.

• All new lighting fixtures, retrofit kits, and components must carry the appropriate, designated Underwriters Laboratory (UL) or ETL Label.

• All installations must be installed in accordance with all applicable local, state and national codes and ordinances.

• Please attach the invoice and manufacturer’s specification sheet to each application documenting the characteristics of lamps, ballasts and fixtures.

• In all cases, the wattage of the replacement fixture must be less than the wattage of the existing lamp. The maximum replacement fixture wattage listed in the table for each category is typically associated with the highest lamp wattage in that particular range.

Fixtures Interior High Performance Linear Fluorescent Fixtures

To qualify for this rebate, install a new high performance T5 or T8 linear fluorescent fixture or retrofit kit with advanced optical design and T5 ballast or high efficiency T8 ballast that meets the requirements below.

Requirements:• Complete new fixtures or new complete retrofit kits that

combine advanced optics lens with high performance lamps and ballasts.

• Fixture efficiency must meet or exceed 80 percent.

• Advanced optical design that includes nonplanar lens, such as architectural and louvered designs.

• Lamps:

§ All 32-watt T8 lamps must be HPT8 or Super T8 lamps and listed on the qualified High Performance T8 lamp list at www.cee1.org.

§ All lamps must be rated as having 20,000 hours or greater average-rated lamp life based on 3 hours per start (when operated on program rapid-start ballasts).

§ T5 HO and T8 VHO lamps must have Color Rendering Index (CRI) of 82 or greater.

• Ballasts:

§ All non-emergency T8 ballasts must be designated as “Premium” by NEMA, or they must be listed as a HP electronic ballast on the spreadsheet found on the CEE web site at www.cee1.org.

§ T5 HO and T8 VHO fixtures must be program rapid-start ballasts.

• Fixtures may be either 2' x 4' or 2' x 2'.

• Only certain combinations of sizes, lamps, and ballasts are available. Please check the tables to the right for approved combinations.

• Fixtures may be used for new construction or for the replacement of existing fixtures (either on a one-for-one fixture replacement or for fixture redesign).

• For more information, please visit www.pge.com/hp-lighting.

Additional Notes: • T8 measures are based on the savings provided by utilizing

a one-lamp or two-lamp fixture instead of the industry-standard three-lamp fixture. Additional savings are realized if a RLO ballast is used instead of the standard, base-case NLO ballast. Please note that savings are reduced if a HLO or VHLO ballast is used.

• T5 measures are based on the savings provided by utilizing a two-lamp T5 fixture instead of the industry-standard three-lamp T8 fixture. Additional savings are realized if a NLO ballast is used instead of a HLO ballast. VHLO T5 ballasts are excluded due to insufficient savings relative to the base case.

Definitions Bi-level Stairwell/Corridor Fixture: This type of lighting fixture is designed to reduce energy consumption while still providing appropriate illumination levels during occupied periods and emergency egress. When spaces are unoccupied, the fixture operates at low light levels.

Candelabra Base: A smaller screw-in base for light bulbs with a 12-millimeter diameter, also referred to as an E12 base.

Edison Base: The most common screw-in base for light bulbs with a 26-millimeter diameter, also referred to as a E26 (or medium) base.

ETL: ETL stands for the Electrical Testing Laboratory, which marks products of compliance to applicable electrical, gas and other safety standards. For more information, visit www.etl.com.

Fixture: Refers to new equipment being installed based on system wattage (lamp and ballast).

Fixture-Integrated Sensors: Occupancy sensors that are factory- or field-installed in a lighting fixture which are intended to control the lamps within that fixture.

High Performance Linear Fluorescent Fixture: Includes complete fixtures or complete retrofit kits only. Fixture efficiency that meets or exceeds 80 percent with advanced optical design that includes nonplanar lens, such as architectural and louvered designs. Either 2' x 4' or 2' x 2' and can contain one or two lamps. Only certain combinations of high performance lamps and high performance ballasts are eligible.

High Performance Linear Fluorescent Fixture Ballasts: National Electrical Manufacturers’ Association (NEMA) Premium or CEE qualified T8 ballasts or T5 ballasts.

High Performance Linear Fluorescent Lamps: Consortium for Energy Efficiency (CEE) qualified 4-foot T8 lamps or 2-foot T8/T5 lamps with at least 20,000 hour rated life and a Color Rendering Index (CRI) that meets or exceeds 82.

High Performance T8 Lamp: These high-performance lamps are also known as 800 series fixtures. Typically the third generation T8 lamps outperform first generation 700 series T8s in both lamp lumen output and longer lamp life.

NEMA Premium Ballasts: These are the most efficient fluorescent fixed output and dimmable electronics for T8 ballasts to be recognized by the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA).

Parking Garage: A parking garage is a covered building or structure for the purpose of parking vehicles, which consists of at least a roof over the parking area enclosed with walls on all sides. Parking garages may have fences, rails, partial walls (pony wall) or other barriers in place of one or more walls. The structure has an entrance(s) and exit(s), and includes areas for vehicle maneuvering to reach the parking spaces. If the roof of the parking structure is also used for parking, the section without an overhead roof is considered parking lot instead of a parking garage.

Self-Contained Wall-Switch (Wall-Box) Lighting Sensors: Line voltage units that are designed to replace a standard wall switch without an additional switch/relay pack.

UL—Underwriters Laboratory: An independent product safety certification organization. For more information, visit www.ul.com.

Wall- or Ceiling-Mounted Sensor: This type of sensor is generally installed to control multiple fixtures in a zone. It typically requires a low-voltage switch and a relay pack, but may include line-voltage type sensor as well.
