The Wilder Family
Your Essence has returned to the heavens, now you are among others in the Fathers light. You have done what you've been called to do, so your reward is only right. We will miss your beautiful smile, which is now a gift to our memories. Your wisdom and humor, got
us through the hard times, giving us a sense of security. There's no price that we can put on your
love, there's no debt that could ever be paid. All we can do is offer our love in return, and try to be
righteous in our ways. That's what you would have wanted; we thank you for your guiding light. Your star has been placed in the heavens, and its beauty
will forever burn bright.
This world is a bridge, you should not think to build anything upon it, but only to cross it
We love you Mother!

BARBARA WITH GREAT GRANDMOTHER
Barbara Ann Wilder, Age 76, was born on May 5, 1944, in Durham NC to the late Mrs. Essie Mae Wilder Baldwin. Her childhood was spent surrounded by aunts, uncles, her grandmother, cousins and family that extended from Lumber City, Georgia to Durham to the Bronx, New York. Family gatherings, good food, good times, laughter were the tenets of the village that she grew up in. Barbara Ann descended from a long line of strong willed women in her family. She was the granddaughter of Marion and Fannie Sinclair Wilder, the great granddaughter of John and Gillian Barton Sinclair and the great-great granddaughter of Floyd and Ellen Barton.
Barbara Ann received her early education in the segregated public schools in Durham during the height of the Civil Rights movement and would witness first hand many of the challenges that confronted African Americans during this era. She graduated from the Hillside High School in 1963. Her spiritual foundation was formed early in her life as member of the St. John Baptist Church.
She was employed in telemarketing for over 15 years in Augusta Ga., and 10 years at Durham Hosiery Mill, one of the leading textile companies in the city.
Barbara’s exuberant personality, her zest for life and love for people were her trademarks. She enjoyed road trips, traveling, and later attending family gatherings, reunions and sharing in the accomplishments and successes of her family and especially her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Mrs. Essie Mae Baldwin, her Brothers, Samuel Wilder and Carl Williams Wilder.
Barbara Ann Wilder transitioned from earth to eternity on October 11, 2020 at the Aiken Regional Hospital, Aiken SC.
