Kate Bell-Keierleber enters her first sea-sonastheheadsoftballcoachatLeTourneau.

She brings a wealth of experience and ac-colades fromUT-Tyler. Thenativeof Forney,Texas, was named to the 2008 All-American SouthwestConferenceEastDivisionandcon-ferenceall-tournamentteam.

Bell-Keierleber’s accomplishments con-tinued into her senior year with all-conference first-teamandall-regionhonorablementionhonors as a senior as the Lady Patriots ad-vancedtotheNCAADivisionIIICollegeWorldSeriesandfinishedfifthinthecountry.

Prior toherfinal twocollegiateyearsatUT-Tyler, Bell spent two seasons at Hardin-Simmons where she was named All-ASC West

In her final season at UT-Tyler, the firstbaseman/designatedplayerhit.338ingameswith 45 hits, 40 RBIs, 21 runs scored, was sec-ondontheteaminhomerswith14andfin-ishedwithfourdoubles.

Prior to stepping into the head coach’srole, Bell-Keierleber served as LeTourneau’stop assistant coach during the 2010 and 2011 seasons. She helped oversee LeTourneau’smost successful season in program history in2011,whichincludedtheJackets’first-everwinsovereventualregionchampionUTTyler.

Keith Bell joins the YellowJackets for the 2011-12seasonaftercomingfromDivisionIIOuachitaBaptist University, where he has served as an as-sistantcoachsince2009.

“WearefortunatetohavesomeoneofKeith’scaliberjoinourstaff,”KateBellsaid.“Hewillbringvaluable leadership experience as well a solid phi-losophyonthefundamentalsofsoftball.”

Bell began coaching for the Forney Youth Softball Association in 1991 and began coaching withtheTexasTravelersGirls’FastpitchOrganiza-tionin2002.HecoachedattheUniversityofTexasat Tyler from 2006 to 2009 where he coached in two ASC Conference Tournaments, two NCAA Regional tournaments andafifth-placefinishattheNCAAChampionshipsin2009.He was also a member of the 2009 Co-Coaching Staff of the YearinDivisionIIISoftball.

In addition to his 15 years of coaching softball, Keith Bell

is also the president and CEO of Intex Electrical Contractors, Inc. inForneyandownerof theKBCattleCompanyinWillsPoint.

Bell was the founder and past president of the Forney Education Leadership Foundation, a mem-ber of the Forney Economic Development Cor-poration, a member of the Mesquite Lions Club, chairman of the Texas Electrical Safety and Licens-ing Advisory Board and the current President of theForneyISDBoardofTrustees.

Inthe2010season,theTigersfinishedwithaprogram best 36-24 season while earning a berth

to the GSC Conference Tournament and setting single season records inhits,doubles,homeruns, runs scored, andRBI’s.In 2011, OBU earned their third consecutive appearance to theGSCConferenceTournamentwithathird-placefinishinthe GSC West and a program-record six All GSC Team selec-tions.

Tony Fitzgerald joins the LeTourneau coach-ingstaffforthe2011-12season.HecomestoLETU with 15 years of coaching experience in theprivatesector.

After Fitzgerald completed his baseball ca-reer at the University of Texas at Arlington, he began coaching softball in the Forney Youth Association. In 1998 he began giving privatehitting and pitching instruction and started coachingselectsoftballin2001.

As an instructor, Fitzgerald has traveled all over the US learning different coaching styles, techniques,

philosophies, and training methods for hitting, slapping,andpitching.

In addition to coaching, Fitzgerald served on the Forney Parks and Recreation board from 2000-2009, he was one of the founding members of the Metro East Softball Associa-tionwhere he served as either Vice Presidentor President from 2002-2009, and he served on the Forney ISD Board of Trustees from 2006-2009.

Tony and his wife Brandie have 2 daugh-ters,MicahandLinsey.
