Jesus knew what they were arguing about. The disciples kept quiet. They were embarrassed. Mark 9: 33-35.

Mothers and Fathers still bring their children

to Jesus for Him to hold and to bless.

When the mothers understood what Jesus said they brought their children to Him. They wanted Jesus to hold them in His arms and to

lay His hands upon them.
