LET’S CELEBRATEAt City Opera House we strive for SPECTACULAR: Spectacular performances, service, community, arts education, donors, relationships and more.

Our mission is to promote and nurture City Opera House as a regional hub for connecting people to the arts and each other. To this end, we invite you to experience Auto-Owners Insurance Performing Arts at City Opera House as a season ticket holder and donor.

We invite you to create your own spectacular, personalized ticket package – not only to ensure that you get the best seats to world-class shows at the best prices – but also to give yourself the opportunity to try something new, to share a unique experience with your family and to introduce friends to the great cultural opportunities available in our region.

This season City Opera House celebrates its 125th year. February 5, 1892 marked the formal opening of City Opera House. Gentry danced through the night to the music of a local group, The Ideal Orchestra. Spectacular then and now, we invite you to join us on this yearlong celebration of this community treasure!

In celebration of 125 years, we’ve hand-picked outstanding performers in a variety of genres including music, theatre, comedy, spoken word and more. Plus, we celebrate family with a musical twist on a classic, The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe at our traditional Thanksgiving weekend show.

A spectacular season celebrating 125 years is ahead. We hope you’ll join us.

Sincerely,

Diana J. Baribeau Executive Director, City Opera House

P.S. We have another reason to celebrate. Thanks to grants and generous donors the restrooms and multipurpose room on the third floor will be complete by the start of the new season!

MARC COHN25th Anniversary Show

Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at 7:30PM Tickets: $32.50, $20 Grammy®-award winning singer-songwriter Marc Cohn celebrates the 25th anniversary of his platinum debut album, Marc Cohn, with a very special engagement at City Opera House. This tour marks the first time Marc has performed his landmark album in its entirety from start to finish. He will be joined by an all-star band featuring some of his favorite musicians and perhaps a surprise or two along the way. The best-selling male debut album of the 1990s, Marc Cohn begins with the epochal “Walking in Memphis.” According to legendary music critic Dave Marsh, “It’s perfectly written narrative takes into account the whole history of American music, from where it begins in storefront church gospel and W.C. Handy’s blues to where it shoots out into Elvis and Al Green and, at that climactic moment, Marc Cohn himself. That unforgettable moment when he declares, “Ma’am, I am tonight!” remains Cohn’s proud signature…”This anniversary tour is a celebration of 11 songs and an artist that has stood the test of time.
