Leadership In Action Programme

An Experiential Custom-Designed Leadership Development

Programme offered in conjunction with Institute of Banking

Studies – Kuwait

Today’s business executives are forced to lead in in a VUCA world; one that is volatile,

uncertain, complex, and ambiguous. To respond to changes and challenges, leaders

must be agile, flexible, innovative and forward-thinking. Combining intellectual insight

and practical expertise, the IDG/Sandhurst “Leadership In Action” Programme is

designed to equip leaders with the understanding, skills and confidence to address

today’s pressing strategic business issues, to make the right critical decisions (when the

information is imperfect and the stakes are high) and to drive their organisation by

inspiring their people.

This is a unique, exciting and experiential leadership development programme that

allows leaders to access the facilities and explore and practice the leadership

philosophy at the UK’s world famous Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS). The

programme creates a safe environment which invites leaders to take a step back and

develop the means of building a leadership culture based on their organisation's core

values.

Objectives

Inspirational Performance - Module 1

Cass Business School

The Leadership In Action Programme will provide leadership excellence for the

delegates and their organisation through:

• Sharing an approach to leadership development which develops leadership in a

challenging commercial environment, alongside developing leaders who can

support, maintain or, if required, change their organisation’s culture and practices.

• Distinguishing a set of values around which professional life, personal motives and

behaviour could be ordered, organised and understood, which leads to creating a

leadership culture where values are actively accessed and referenced.

• Employing a highly capable design, delivery and evaluation team who have a wide

variety of skills and are experts on bespoke, high impact programmes across the

world. Our consultants are experienced business people, former military officers and

academics, who have a broad and real international experience underpinning their

cultural insight and delivery of programmes aimed to help transform leaders along

with their organisations.

• Sharing the Royal Military Academy’s inspiring surroundings.

Approach

The leadership In Action Programme explores two fundamental areas of

Organisational Development: Culture and Strategy and Leading through

Change. It breaks down these into critical components to support leaders in

implementing strategic plans congruent with their organisational vision and

strategies: leading people, sustaining and growing the business, leading

strategic change and the challenges of senior leadership.

Module 1: Culture and Strategy

A series of experiential and classroom sessions addressing the definition of

culture and its role in bringing strategy, innovation and values to life. To do

so, topics covered include: Leadership theory and practice, Value based

leadership, Adaptive leadership in a challenging and uncertain world, The

power of followership, motivation and team building, Problem solving and

decision making, Communicating and leading, and Managing change.

Module 2: Leading through Change

Learning through the practical application of applied military leadership

principles relating to innovative and courageous leadership. Using a mixture

of physical and intellectual hurdles covering a range of topics drawn from

one of the world’s great leadership institutions and built on a foundation of

“Serve to Lead”. Business-based simulations and classroom sessions,

focused on the art of innovative and strategic thinking and leading

sustainable change. To be practised in the context of business economics

and information management, marketing, media management, risk

management, managing strategic change, stakeholder management and

navigating through complexity and ambiguity.Pro
