A message from our Principal…

Good afternoon everyone, What an action packed term! I don’t know about you all, but I am keen for some rest to recharge the batteries and set Term 2 alight! I have found this term incredibly challenging – but rewarding all the same. We have so many good people in and around our school that provide so much goodness!

Unfortunately, we will say goodbye to some of them at the conclusion of Term 1 and wish them all the very best for a variety of reasons and thank you to some of our casual staff

for their professionalism and commitment to ensuring Lavington PS continues to be ‘the place to be!’

- Mrs Mikaela Torok will be welcoming a new addition to her family in Term 2. I’m sure we will see plenty of Mrs Torok around the place!

- Ms McConnell has been awesome in the library, covering for Mrs Jervois while she has been away. Miriam will also be at LPS a great deal for the remainder of the year in a casual capacity.

- Mrs Doolan, one of our regular casuals,

is off to Wollongong. We wish her all the very best!

- Lastly, Debbie who has filled in and

managed our canteen, is finding her way down to Shepparton. She has done a terrific job and know wherever she goes, she’ll make the most of it!

Enjoy your break with your children and I’ll see you all soon,

Brett

Anzac Day, 25 April falls during the school holidays this year, however students are still encouraged to

represent our school in the Albury ANZAC Day march down Dean Street. Children will need to assemble at 8:40am in Macauley Street near the Dean Street corner. Students marching are to wear full school uniform, either summer or winter depending on the weather. At the conclusion of the march, children are to be collected from Townsend Street. The School Captains will continue on, and make their way to the monument to lay a wreath on behalf of the school. SCHOOL PROMOTION As advised in the Newsletter last week, on Friday a video promo was recorded with a drone. Paige Gawen and Jimmy Lyons were great ambassadors for the school and are pictured with Tom who was in charge of the proceedings.

DENTAL CHECKS This week we have had White Cross Dental Care visiting our school carrying out dental checks on some of our students. Unfortunately not all children have been able to be seen this week so they will be returning next term to complete their check-ups. STEWART HOUSE DONATION DRIVE Thank you to everyone who has sent in their Donation Drive envelopes supporting this very worth charity. Remember, you have the chance to win a $4000.00 holiday to a destination of your choice for the cost of a $2.00 coin. More envelopes are available at the office if required.

in the Albury Zone trials. Archer Carroll, Jonothan McIntosh, Max Cunningham and Isaiah Manuaifua joined other keen Rugby League boys from around the Albury schools for the trials. On this occasion Archer and Jono were selected to progress through to the Riverina carnival in Leeton next term. Congratulations to all the boys on their efforts at the trials. NSWPSSA SWIMMING CARNIVAL Finn McDonnell and Carl Lyons have been emulating their heroes from the Commonwealth Games at the NSWPSSA Swimming titles in Sydney this week. From all reports the boys have been enjoying the experience of representing our school as well as our region. We do not have any results at this time but will have a report in the next newsletter after the holiday break.

A big thank to all the volunteers who have

assisted in the Canteen during Term 1.
