A letter from the editor

When asked what I would save if my house was on fire, my 8-year old self always replied, “My pictures.” Here we are, a *couple* of decades later, and no doubt I’d say the same thing. I’m pretty sure you would too (of course, after your family members were accounted for, the dog was saved, and gold fish were safe).

AfterAfter 11 years as a full time people photographer, I am still inspired by our amazing clients. The fact that they’ve chosen us to capture their lives and love, well, it’s an honor. And one of my favorite and most fulfilling things has been to watch them change and grow over the years, from the proposal, to the wedding, and finally welcoming their first little miracle.miracle.

Thank you for stopping in, taking the time to see our images, read our stories, and learn about all of the options when it comes to documenting such a wonderful time in your lives!

High-five,Laurel

You like the way his eyes get all squinty when he chuckles all cute-like. or the way her belly curves because it’s holding your looove child. Or the way his slobber is out of control when a treat is coming (I’m talking about the dog, come on...). so do we.We are a boutique photography company. we don’t have millions and trillions of clients, we answer the phone at all odd hours, email entirely too much, and i-heart-text-messages. We strive to keep relationships personal, ideas fresh, and products timeless.

TThings are seen with a teeny bit of a fashion flare: we’ve got a passion for creating rockin’ portraits, all the while capturing moments as they happen. But mostly, we ARE photography for really fun people.

For life’s big events, or just because.

Lifestyle photography is what fills the editorial pages of today’s magazines. But what is it, really?

It’s a hybrid of editorial photography and its more traditional cousin, portraiture. It’s bright, airy, and full of real people in real locations doing real, everyday things.

It’s casual and often fun. It showcases your personalities, while creating some fun captures for wall portraits, albums, or announcement cards.

Belly. Newborn. Family. Pets. Engagement. An anniversary session.

what exactly ARE lifestyle portraits?

At the place he proposed: After all, what better way to capture an engagement than the place it all started!

Chillin at home: Sweet memories are made when baking homemade cookies and jumping on the bed.

Doing your favorite activity: You love playing board games together. What better way to capture your personality than in the heat of game play, the agony of defeat, or the comedy of contemplating your next move?

Where you first met each other: Whether your first meeting was a discussion at the library or fumbling for the door at the local coffee shop, going back to your beginnings is a marvelous memory.

Vintage-styled, with old furniture and funky clothes: Bring out your nostalgic or avant garde side with some dramatic, edgy modern shots coupled with retro stylings.

At your favorite donut shop: Quirky and cozy, local mom and pop shops are a great way to take a quick break to refuel and to catch some of the local scene with you in the picture.

Seasonal: Catch the nuances of the seasons, including everything from a winter wonderland, to leaves of fall, to flowers in spring, to the lush, green summers in beautiful fields and forests.

Wet noses: What better way to capture your family than by including a beloved shared pet in your session?

Your favorite skyline: Seattle is beautiful at any time of the year, and the skyline shares where you live now, a beautiful location that changes with time.

A downtown urban session: Fun and funky, pictures in alleyways or in otherwise undiscovered locations of your area make for a more intimate view of the city.

A day at the beach: Where sea meets an endless sky and the sand meets your mad sand castle-building skills!
