New Horizons Center for Learning (NHCL) offers programs for child care andPreschool, as well the Academy for students with learning differences. School tours of ourcampus can be arranged by calling the school office at 702-876-1181. Enrollment is possible anytime throughout the school year as long as there is space available.

NHCL was founded in 1974 and exists for students who do not feel comfortable ina traditional public school environment. The students at New Horizons Academy strugglewith typical teaching methods and require a more individual curriculum, based on theirlearning differences.

We offer each of our students in 1st to 12th grade, a customized education plan(CEP). This plan will ensure that each child will be challenged, not frustrated and discour-aged. Each year the CEP team for every student, reviews their plan and makes changes asnecessary. Parent input is encouraged, and communication between parents, teachers, students, and administrators is ongoing.

The staff at New Horizons Center for Learning is dedicated and creative. They workdiligently to achieve each individual student’s goals. Our classroom sizes are kept small to be able to teach skills and strategies in a safe, nurturing environment. Our teachersincorporate a number of learning tools and use a variety of teaching methods in theirlesson plans. Our Academy students are issued Chromebook computers (mini laptops) touse while in school for the majority of their assignments. Utilizing technology for project-based learning is an important part of our curriculum.
