  • The Larapinta trail & Red Centre Venture into the beautiful red heart of Australia on a Desert trek that will show you outstanding natural scenery, followed by a visit to one of Australias most iconic attractions, Uluru.

    The Larapinta trail, although only a few years old is fast becoming one of the Worlds great walks, as it reveals the subtle beauties of this vast desert land. For an active walker this challenging route is a delight as you tackle the ridges and mountains of this ancient land.

    Incredibly expansive views over the surrounding desert descend to narrow canyons and dry river beds, marked by gum trees and bush. Revel in camping out under breathtaking night skies, painted white with stars each night. After a week youll come back invigorated and with a fresh perspective on Australias red centre.

    Day 2:Ormiston Gorge to Pound walk (L,D)

    Day 3: Ormiston to Glen Helen Gorge (B,L,D)

    (via the Finke river)

    Day 4: Glen Helen to Redbank Gorge (B,L,D)

    Day5: Ascend Mount Sonder. Transfer to

    Simpsons Gap (B,L,D)

    Day 6: Simpsons Gap to Old Telegraph Station.

    Return Alice Springs (B,L)

    Day 7: Drive Alice to Uluru (B,L,D)

    Day 8: Explore Uluru / Kata Tjuta (B,L,D)

    Day 9: Explore Kings Canyon / Alice Springs (B,L)

    Day 10: Depart Alice Springs

    Relax and enjoy the walking!

    This trip is a fully supported walk: your main pack will be transported to the next campsite, where youll find your swag (or tent) and a delicious meal awaiting you at the end of each day.Youll experience the solitude and peace of the great Australian desert while learning about this unique environment from expert local guides.

    We walk with local Anangu people at Uluru and learn about this ancient spiritual centre from their perspective. Weve got more walking in store but of a gentler nature as we trek through the Valley of the Winds at Kata Tjuta and the towering Kings Canyon.

    Its a superb way to end your trip and really absorb one of the most extraordinary desert environments on Earth. We also have time to look around the galleries (as well as pubs) that make Alice Springs so unique.
