Lab 13 - DTMF Relay

CCNA Voice Lab 13

DTMF Relay

Lab Objective:

The objective of this lab exercise is for you to learn and understand how to implement DTMF relayfunctionality in Cisco IOS voice ateways

Topic Description:

DTMF! or Dual Tone Multi Fre"uency! refers to the tones that a re played when the dial pad on a phone ispressed# DTMF is often referred to as touch$tones# %ecause voice traffic is typically compressed! DTMF canbecome distorted# The DTMF relay feature allows the DTMF to be sent out$of$band! which reso lves thedistortion problem

Lab Difficulty:

This lab has a difficulty ratin of &'()

Reainess !ssess"ent:

*hen ready for your exam! you should be able to complete this lab in no more than (& minutes

Confiure 4oI+ dial peers on -. and -/ for the extensions at either location# 3se any dial peer numbersyou want

Task (:

I4- applications are bein used at both sites5 however! there are a lot of issues bein experiencedbecause DTMF tones are be in sent in$band usin the default DTMF relay method# To address andresolve this issue! confiure DMTF relay on -. and -/ such that tones are sent out$of$band usin 6#./&sinalin and the lenth of the tone is passed alon

Task ):

4erify your confiuration usin the appropriate show and ebu# commands
