Based on three historical accounts characterised by a strong sense of desire and expectations for the future, La technique et le temps is a triptych which arises from three specific documents. on the one hand, Red Star Revisted, which emerges from an image of the 1990s which condenses, in the form of an anecdote, the fall of the Soviet regime in Sofia (Bulgaria); on the other hand, A Building Project Like No Other, whose origin is found in a photograph of the 1969 Twin Towers project in New York driven by the aspiration of building the tallest building in the world; and finally Salyut, which emerges following the adquisition of an undeveloped roll of film from an alleged Russian space mission in the 1980’s. By exchanging its original format for that of three similar T-shirts, La technique et le temps adopts a circumstantial medium to convey three desires that are also three collective utopias. The transfer of desire through the object is, in turn, its moving forward in time.
