Customs supervision in recent years within the European Union has changed a great deal. Strict vertical supervision is giving way to a horizontal form of supervision, in which customs is placing more and more responsibilities with the business world. The Customs, Controlling & Projects team was established by Kuehne + Nagel’s management for this purpose. It directly supports our operational customs team in the field, and our key accounts. This primarily takes place when the final destination of the goods is not yet known.
