World Scout Centre

KISC is a World Scout Centre. It is your centre.

Time after time, the magic of Kandersteg has

exceeded the expectations of those who visit.


Summer

Visit KISC in summer and get the chance to take part in many adventurous activities such as hiking, climbing, river rafting and cycling. Join our In Camp activities and meet scouts and guides from all over the world!


Winter

Go skiing or snowboarding on Kandersteg’s own slopes! Whether you are a beginner or a pro, KISC has something to offer you. And after a hard day skiing, why not build an igloo or go snow shoeing?


Year Round

Visit KISC at any time of the year and take advantage of all the Alps, and Switzerland, has to offer.


The Chalet

The Centre has a chalet built to accommodate up to 200 guests. It also has a number of meeting rooms and social areas for groups to

use.


The Tower

The Tower is situated on our campsite and can accommodate 57 guests. It includes catering facilities and is ideal for large groups

with self catering.


Campsite accommodation

Campsite accommodation is available for another 1500 guests; mainly in summer. All sites have running water nearby, as well as access to

shower blocks and toilets.


Ueschinenhutte

Visit KISC’s mountain hut, at 1890m; your chance to experience a high alpine hut! Many activities are run from the hut and it can

accommodate 30 people a night.


Catering / Self-catering

You can cook yourself ... or eat in the chalet. Catering and Self catering options are available to guests. At KISC basic food

supplies can be ordered via the Centre’s Kitchen.


Programme: International FriendshipScouts from over 40 different countries visit Kandersteg every year. They have a chance to meet other Scouts and Guides, learn about other cultures and make new friends.


Programme: High Adventure

A chance to experience the Alps! Scale a peak or try some rock-climbing. Why not stay in an Alpine Mountain Hut?

Whatever adventure you seek: find it at KISC.


Programme: Eco-adventure

The Kandersteg environment is unique. We are an environmentally friendly Centre and aim to give our guests the greatest Eco experience they can get, learning and being part of the environment.


International Staff

KISC is ran by an international group of volunteers. They come and work from 3 months to several years, in a wide variety of jobs. They are always willing to help and have fun!


Kandersteg village

It is situated next to the village of Kandersteg, beside the Kander river. Only 2 kilometres from KISC is the village of Kandersteg- with shops, cafes, a swimming poll and much more.
