Training reminders: 4 Always make sure you arrive to training on time so that sessions are not interrupted with late arrivals. 4 Make sure you have your goggles, kickboard, pullbouy, fins, caps and any other required training equipment. 4 If you are unable to make it to training please advise your coach of your absence. Swim meet reminder: 4 Remember to always ask your coach which events you should be swimming in prior to entering a swim meet. Uniform reminders: 4 All swimmers should now have ordered their compulsory uniform items, if you do not have a polo top and a Kings Cap please place your order today. 4 Deck coats are back in stock and there are 3 sizes that can be tried on at each centre prior to placing an order, please see advert on page 3 for details. 4 All uniform and fins have now arrived. If you have not received eveything you ordered please contact Tamille Gibbs on 0408 871 018 or [email protected] and she will look into it for you. Dear Swimmers and all Members, Firstly I would like to introduce myself as the current and newly voted president, a role that I view as an honour and take very seriously, please come and introduce yourself so I can gradually put a parent to a swimmer. With that in mind I would like to take this opportunity to express the new committees gratitude and appreciation of the work put into the past year from past and present members, it is a thankless task that we all take on to ensure the future of our swim club for our children. I would personally like to thank those who have taken on roles on the executive committee which can be time consuming but rewarding, also Tamile Gibbs who has taken the role of Uniform Officer and has already sourced a new supplier, great work!! With a great start to the 2015 season we welcome onboard our new head coach Mark Davies who has already proved his worth with recent results from the last few meets showing fantastic times with many of our swimmers achieving State Qualifying times and some amazing PB’s all round. Well done to our swimmers and all our coaches. I would like to recognise also those swimmers and families who supported the MS Mega Swim, a 24hr swim which was staged at Casey Race, what a fantastic achievement, the Kings team swam 94.6km which in turn raised awareness for MS and a lot of money!! Well Done!! Now onto fun, we have just returned from one of the clubs first social events of the season which took place at Casey Indoor Sport Centre, great time was had by one and all. If you have any ideas for future social events please let us know, both centres have post boxes and we encourage input and feedback, please get involved. Please keep an eye on the club notice board, we are aiming to keep information flowing, should you have any questions please contact any committee member, (details can be found on the notice board), and hopefully we can help. Keeping it short and sweet, I will sign off and wish you all great swimming!! Sally (Bentley) Welcome to King Swim Club President’s Report

For the 4th year running Kings entered a team into the 24 Hour Mega Swim to raise much needed funds for people living with MS. We entered a team of 16 young swimmers (aged 9-14) together they swam from 12 noon on Saturday 4th July to 12 noon Sunday 5th July covering a distance of 94.55 kms and raising over $6,500, $1500 more than the $5,000 target they set themselves. Congratulations to you all on such a wonderful achievement. Our team, the Kings Creatures, took out the trophy for the Overall Winning Team which is calculated by combining points for both funds raised and distance swum, but with our team raising the most money and swimming the greatest distance of any other team the points really didn’t need to be counted.

In addition to the overall team award Kings also won the award for Best Dressed Team in the dress-up competition and 9yo Cooper Lambert took out the prize for Highest Overall Individual Fundraiser with a total of $1455. Unfortunately, Cooper broke his toe the day before the Megaswim and was not able to swim in the event but he came and supported the team by doing lap-scoring for almost half of the 24 hours.

A special thank you to all the parents for coming out at all hours of the day and night to support your little Mega Swimmers, I hope you enjoyed it as much as the kids did. More photos in Photo Corner...

CLUB FUN MEET& Sports Night

Thank you to all of you who came out on a cold, wet and miserable sunday so that your swimmers could have a bit of fun with their team mates. We had 43 swimmers come down to the Narre Warren pool for a bit of fun followed by a sports night at Casey Indoor Sports Centre. The swimmers played AFL, Soccer, Volleyball and Dodgeball and it looked like fun was had by all. More photos in Photo Corner...

We have had an unfortunate incident occur at George’s On The Avenue with one of our young club swimmers. She went into George’s after training to get some lunch as was firstly ignored, then refused service and treated appauling

all because she was proudly wearing her club uniform. George is not happy with new coffee van attending several of the Narre Warren morning sessions and is refusing service to most of Narre Warren Coaches and now it appear

Swim Club Members. It was a very unpleasant experience for our young swimmer so please ensure your kids go in accompanied if they are in uniform.

That’s right, we have sourced a new supplier for our deck coats at a much better rate, so deck coats are now only $145, to see the quality

and try on please contact... Frankston – Tamille Gibbs (Rhemmy & Shalyn) at [email protected] Narre Warren – Tania Thomas (Abbey) at [email protected]
