By-Law Revision

Proposal to change number of meeting per year to 4. Motion by Erica Hosken, second by Jackie Kurisky, passed by unanimous consent.

A tentative PTA 2012-13 Schedule was presented. There will be changes made to some events, in particular the Silent Auction. There is currently no chair, so the event may end up being Baskets and Bingo. The Board is proposing new events in the winter that focus on wellness. The events wouldn’t cost anything to attend, but would hopefully increase community involvement. PTA meeting nights may change depending upon the Board.

2012-13 Budget

The 2012-13 budget was reviewed line by line and opened to discussion. Members agreed to revise amount carried over into new school year to $14,500 in order to cover actual startup expenses.

Mrs.Lin shared that Kings Park works hard to have a welcoming atmosphere for all families and hosts many family nights and events. Reclarification was given that siblings are welcome to be at school for events such as Dance Mania, Musical performances, author’s celebrations, daily lunch in the cafeteria and Thanksgiving lunch to name a few. During all evening school events families are welcomed and encouraged. However, when a parent is volunteering siblings (or any additional children) are not allowed. This helps ensure the quality of the instructional environment and everyone’s safety.
