I loved working on your home and I think Irsquove come up with the perfect solution for yourspace based on the photos and comments yoursquove given me as wersquove gone through Thiscustom Design Kit has all the information you should need to finish off your spaceincluding a floor plan colour palette moodboard furniture choices and more

And remember you donrsquot need to feel limited by the ideas here If you love them goahead and use them all Or simply use these as suggestions to help guide and informyour own decisions

Now letrsquos take a closer look at your existing space and your style

Colour Scheme Currently your room has a lot of warm tones such as tan and chocolatebrown While these colours are perfect to create a warm inviting home I want to add somecooler and brighter tones into the mix to stop the room feeling too dark

Window Treatments You have beautiful big windows in this room that feel a bit hiddendue to the window treatments Irsquom going to suggest a new style which I think will lightenand brighten your space

Style amp Finish Your have some beautiful pieces in your space but I feel like they needmore room to lsquobreathersquo Irsquom going to suggest some new vignettes and styling options aroundthe room to give it that designer finish

You already have tan walls and lots of chocolate brownfurniture These are perfect to create that invitingatmosphere but with only two tones used the roomfeels a bit one-dimensional I love the idea ofincorporating some more clean white to brighten upthe warm tan colour scheme and then adding a touchof a cool and cheerful apple green to contrast with thewarm tones in the space and tie the space in with yourkitchen

Your style is lsquoTransitionalrsquo You like amix of classic and contemporary piecesand interiors that feel warm andhomely Your favourite spaces use lotsof natural textures and dark timbertones to create a space that feelstimeless but still has a modern edge

Although you like a neutral colourpalette with lots of warm creams andbrowns you arenrsquot afraid to add atouch of colour through accessories andart

Your moodboard

You already have a good layout that suits the furniture piecesyou already have With the armchair on one side of the fireplaceI wanted to add an additional piece on the opposite side tocreate some symmetry in the room I love this dresser for itslsquoplantationrsquo vibe and think it is the perfect addition to yourtransitional style I deliberately chose a piece in a differenttimber tone to the other elements in your room to create somevariety and stop your space feeling too one-dimensional

You already have some great pieces which yoursquove purchased together and want to keep I havesome suggested one new piece that I think will finish the room off beautifully

Your current window treatments are in quite atraditional style I wanted to suggest a new optionwhich will freshen up your space Long white curtainsare perfect to bring a strong element of white into yourspace and will give your room a more modern styleMake sure you hang them lsquohigh and widersquo curtainsshould be hung on a rod well above the window frameand about 15rdquo past the frame on either side To coverthe gap between the top of the window and the curtainrod I love the look of some simple bamboo or timber slat blinds These will also bring a lovely texturalelement into your space See the tutorial page for more information on how to hang your newcurtains and blinds

For above the dresser I wanted an interesting piece that hadthe lsquoPottery Barnrsquo vibe I love a round mirror for its contrastagainst the geometric lines in the room and thought thisporthole style mirror was gorgeous The antiqued bronzeytones will work perfectly with the darker tones in the spaceand will contrast beautifully with the soft tan wall colour

On the final wall in your space (the angledarea between the doorways) I wouldsuggest a gorgeous family photo gallerywall arranged in an eclectic arrangementaround your large letter R I would fill thisspace floor to ceiling and use it for familyphotos favourite mementos and othersmall art pieces These are some greatexamples but check out the tutorials linkpage for advice on how to get the look

I wanted a larger piece above the armchair to balance the weightof the dresser on the opposite side of the fireplace Since yoursquore socrafty Irsquom sure you can come up with a great painting which wouldbe personalised especially for your space I thought this piece wasa great DIY idea and would be easy to change up to suit you Iwould use shades of apple green with just touches of brown andtan against a bright white backdrop Lovely

I wanted to add some fun colourand pattern to your room with thepillows for your sofa

When you are mixing patterns itrsquos important to make sure you choose patterns that have a varietyof scales and styles Here Irsquove suggested a large scale floral pillow as your base This pillow is perfectas it brings together a variety of green and brown shades to tie the colour scheme together Achocolate brown trellis adds a geometric pattern for contrast while the deep brown contrasts withyour soft coloured sofa and adds some depth to the arrangement Finally I would suggest a pop ofbright apple green to finish off the look This pattern uses a more organic shape to introduce anotherpattern style For the armchair I suggested this gorgeous script pillow which features a bright greenbutterfly to tie in your colour scheme

Your pillows and art are the feature here so I would suggest keeping your vignette clean and simplewith a stack of pretty coffee tables and your handmade candle centerpiece Top the books with afavourite ornament like a piece of coral or cute ceramic object

Here Irsquove suggested some simple accessories to add toyour existing pieces to finish off this side of the roomYour lovely cabinet is the perfect place to display somepretty objects to give your room some personality

I noticed you have a stack of family photos on a side table in your room I love the look of smallfamily photo frames grouped together in a pretty tray The tray corrals the pieces together andmakes them feel deliberate rather than cluttered You could use any tray you like but here Irsquovesuggested a simple bronze one from Target

To finish off the vignette Irsquove added two interesting shape vases The bright white brings somelightness into the arrangement and provides the perfect place for some pretty ferns or flowers

I wanted a fairly tall lamp for this space to balance the height of the mirror I thought this piece hada great vibe and was a good size for the price The chocolate brown shade ties in perfectly with thepillows on the sofa
