The Appdigio Mobility Lifecycle Management platform enables organizations of virtually any size to manage digital educational content vouchers, Apple and Android educational applications, digital textbooks, and the devices that run them. The Mobility Lifecycle Management platform from Appdigio helps significantly reduce technology-related costs and increase voucher utilization efficiency by empowering teachers and staff with more control over devices and education content. The explosion of one-to-one (1:1) initiatives and Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policies in all levels of public and private education has created new challenges for organizations across the country. School and university 1:1 initiatives are based on students and teachers using a mobile device such as a laptop, tablet, or smart phone to access online resources, digital course materials, and digital textbooks. BYOD is often contrasted with 1:1 because BYOD focuses on the student providing his or her own device, but both strategies involve each student and teacher using a mobile device as the primary tool for learning and teaching. Joe Griffin, CIO of Keller Independent School District, elaborated on the decision to select Appdigio as the district’s mobile device management (MDM) solution provider: “Appdigio provides a robust and unique solution to the challenge school districts have in procuring and managing apps. After implementing Appdigio in our district, we were able to fold the separate processes of MDM, voucher management, and application management into a customizable, on-line store that is easily managed by students and staff. A huge bonus is the ability to generate additional revenue for our campuses and district from the online advertising component. Appdigio is definitely a game-changer for our district’s enterprise application procurement and management efforts.”

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE August 20, 2014

KELLER INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT SELECTS APPDIGIO MOBILITY

LIFECYCLE MANAGEMENT PLATFORM TO MANAGE 35,000 DEVICES

Cloud-based Solution Helps Texas School District Reduce Costs, Increase Digital Content

Voucher Benefits & Generate Online Ad Revenue to Support Student Programs and Activities

Dallas, TX, August 20, 2014—Keller Independent School District (ISD) of Keller, Texas announced today that it

has selected the Appdigio™ Mobility Lifecycle Management™ platform to manage the mobile devices and

content of its 35,000 students, teachers, and staff members. The Appdigio Mobility Lifecycle Management

platform enables organizations of virtually any size to manage digital educational content vouchers, Apple and

Android educational applications, digital textbooks, and the devices that run them. The Mobility Lifecycle

Management platform from Appdigio helps significantly reduce technology-related costs and increase voucher

utilization efficiency by empowering teachers and staff with more control over devices and education content.

The explosion of one-to-one (1:1) initiatives and Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policies in all levels of public and

private education has created new challenges for organizations across the country. School and university 1:1

initiatives are based on students and teachers using a mobile device such as a laptop, tablet, or smart phone to

access online resources, digital course materials, and digital textbooks. BYOD is often contrasted with 1:1

because BYOD focuses on the student providing his or her own device, but both strategies involve each student

and teacher using a mobile device as the primary tool for learning and teaching.

Joe Griffin, CIO of Keller Independent School District, elaborated on the decision to select Appdigio as the

district’s mobile device management (MDM) solution provider:

“Appdigio provides a robust and unique solution to the challenge school districts have in

procuring and managing apps. After implementing Appdigio in our district, we were able to

fold the separate processes of MDM, voucher management, and application management

into a customizable, on-line store that is easily managed by students and staff. A huge bonus

is the ability to generate additional revenue for our campuses and district from the online

advertising component. Appdigio is definitely a game-changer for our district’s enterprise

application procurement and management efforts.”

When a device is lost or otherwise compromised, Keller ISD uses the Appdigio Mobility Lifecycle Management

platform to trace the device and even erase the device’s applications and associated files. This high level of

control helps the district to recover and redeploy textbook and application licenses to other students, which

saves money and ensures content vouchers are used efficiently across all devices. Plus, Appdigio’s platform

includes a comprehensive online advertising component that lets the district earn revenue from ads on

associated Web pages that it chooses. The cloud-based Appdigio Mobility Lifecycle Management platform

means Keller ISD can meet the growing demands of mobile device and content management while generating

revenue to continue and expand educational, sports, arts, and other programs and activities.

“Managing a mobile enterprise is not just the role of the IT department,” said Appdigio Chief

Executive Officer Jim Crocco. “We try to think beyond how to simply restrict a device or its

applications to how to empower users to be more productive. The key, especially for

educational institutions, is to provide a total solution that works within the limited budgetary

and staffing levels that most schools deal with today.”

With the days of printed textbook quickly coming to an end, educational institutions like Keller ISD must support

and manage more and more devices, a growing variety of applications (apps), and a constant stream of requests

for apps from users. The Appdigio Mobility Lifecycle Management platform allows Keller ISD to instantly

centralize the management of all mobile devices and applications with seamless integration of existing

education content programs from providers like Apple, Google, and others. The Mobility Lifecycle Management

platform helps Keller ISD remain at the forefront of educational MDM by managing devices and content across

all functional teams.
