LEVEL 1 WATER/WASTE WATER TREATMENT OPERATOR

Reliable and competent water treatment and distribution and waste water collections and facility public utilities operator. Responsible for reporting to the chief operator and supervisor for the operations and maintenance of the water treatment plant, and the distribution systems including but not limited to water mains, hydrants and valves, as well as the sewage pumping stations and sanitary sewers. Currently possessing level 1 certification in water treatment subsystem and waste water treatment facility licenses and deemed to hold water distribution and waste water collection licenses and committed to obtaining level 2 certification in all 4 classes of water and waste water licenses.

Physically fit and able to perform heavy lifting and work outdoors in inclement conditions. Valid class G Ontario License with Clean Driver’s Abstract. Time-management skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines effectively with minimal

supervision and able to work well independently and as part of a team. Working with people from varied ethnic backgrounds and public government organizations. Waste Water and Water Treatment operations Water treatment plant operations, routine samples, calibrations, analyze, interpret and input of data and results,

determine flows and chemical feed rates as required. Perform chlorine cylinder changes. On call operators that responds and attends to alarm calls during and after normal working hours. Coordinate equipment shut-downs and assist other work groups with maintenance tasks as required. Perform repairs, installations, replacement and maintenance of water distribution infrastructure including but not

limited to water shutoffs, hydrants, water main tapping, valves, water meters and water mains. Inspect, construct, operate and maintain wastewater service laterals and wastewater collection mains performing

preventative maintenance and emergency response to flush, thaw, or unblock as required. Required to communicate all matters on a daily basis to the Chief Operator and/or Supervisor and must maintain

accurate records of daily operations and maintenance in compliance with industry regulations. Experience using SCADA/PLC systems and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and data

entry is required.
