MAMA'S SOUP SURPRISE(Tune: Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious)
Chorus:
Oh, chicken lips and lizard hips and alligator eyes,
Monkey legs and buzzard eggs and salamander thighs,
Rabbit ears and camel rears and tasty toenail pies,
Stir them all together .... it’s Mama’s Soup Surprise!
Chorus
Oh, chicken lips and lizard hips and alligator eyes,
Monkey legs and buzzard eggs and salamander thighs,
Rabbit ears and camel rears and tasty toenail pies,
Stir them all together .... it’s Mama’s Soup Surprise!
Oh, when I was a little kid I never liked to eat,
Mama’d put things on my plate,
I’d dump them on her feet,
But then one day she made this soup, I ate it all in bed.I asked her what she put in it, and this is what she said.
I went into the bathroom and stood beside the sink,
I said I’m feeling slightly ill, I think I’d like a drink,
Mama said “I’ve just the thing, I’ll get it in a wink,
It’s full of lots of protein, and vitamins I think.”
Chorus
Oh, chicken lips and lizard hips and alligator eyes,
Monkey legs and buzzard eggs and salamander thighs,
Rabbit ears and camel rears and tasty toenail pies,
Stir them all together .... it’s Mama’s Soup Surprise!
WE PUT THE OUT IN SCOUTING(Tune: Old Spice Commercial
We put the out in Scouting.
We give the flight to Eagle.
We light the light of Scouting
Over the world.
We'll never be hiked under,
Hear! Hear! the Scouting thunder,
We light the light of Scouting
Over the world.
( Refrain )
Dum, dum, de dum dum dum,
Dum, dum, de dum dum dum,
Dum, dum, de dum dum dum,
Dum, dum, de dum.
( Repeat ) Dum, dum, de dum dum dum, . . . etc
All Scouts will work together,
No matter what the weather.
We light the light of Scouting
Over the world.
We leave a sign that will say
To all who pass this way.
We light the light of Scouting
Over the world.( No Refrain )
We'll blaze the trail from here to
Where-ever duty calls us.
We light the light of Scouting
Over the world.
Scouts, standing row by row,
We're build-ing for to-morrow,
We light the light of Scouting
Over the world.
( Refrain … to down and out )
MAKE AMERICA PROUD OF YOU
Make America proud of you,In everything you say and do.
Make America proud to say,That you’re a son or a daughter of the U-S-A.
In America you are freeTo write your name in history
But now it’s up to you,So what are you gonna do,
To make America proud of you.
(Sing) Whatever the game you choose to play,(Shout) Play fair!
(Sing) Whatever you are or hope to be.(Shout) Be prepared!
(Sing) Whatever the road you choose to take.(Shout) Take care!
(Sing) Walk it straight with your head up in the air.
Make America proud of you,In everything you say and do.
Make America proud to say,That you’re a son or a daughter of the U-S-A.
In America you are freeTo write your name in history
But now it’s up to you,So what are you gonna do,
To make America proud of you.
SCOUTING LADDER (chorus)
There’s a Scouting ladder up in the sky,
Up in the sky, up in the sky,
There’s a Scouting ladder up in the sky,
And I’m going to climb it all the way!
There’s a rugged road that leads to the top,
Leads to the top, leads to the top,
There’s a rugged road that leads to the top,
And I’m going to climb it all the way!
( go up the scale )
I’m a Tenderfoot Scout,
I’m a Second Class Scout,
I’m a First Class Scout,
I’m a Star Scout,
I’m a Life Scout,
I’m an Eagle Scout!
And I’m going to climb it all the way!
There’s a Scouting ladder up in the sky,
Up in the sky, up in the sky,
There’s a Scouting ladder up in the sky,
And I’m going to climb it all the way!
( go down the scale )
No -- use -- be-ing -- on -- the -- bot-tom
( and back up to big finale )
I’m going to climb it all the way!
B.P.'s SONG
(chorus)
He collected kids from the corner of the streets, playing ball with bats
He collected kids from the upper class, young aristocrats
And he taught them how he could,to live in brotherhood
Wearing baggy shorts and funny cowboy hats.
Verse
One day in Mafeking,a man besieged by Boers thought of a plan
To help his nation's youth lead better lives.
I'll teach them how to camp and trek, and all the parts of the Union Jack
And how to whittle wood with big sheath knives.
(chorus)
He collected kids from the corner of the streets, playing ball with bats
He collected kids from the upper class, young aristocrats
And he taught them how he could,to live in brotherhood
Wearing baggy shorts and funny cowboy hats.
He wrote a book did ole B.P.,and very soon he found that he
Had little time to spare in any day.
So he left the army and began to work upon his Scouting plan,
And get things organized in his own way.
(chorus)
He collected kids from the corner of the streets, playing ball with bats
He collected kids from the upper class, young aristocrats
And he taught them how he could,to live in brotherhood
Wearing baggy shorts and funny cowboy hats.
The war it died, the movement grew, and kids of every creed and hew
Said Scouting was a game they had to play
Till everyone knew B.P.'s name and all about his Scouting game
And the King said, "well done lad", in a lordly way.
(chorus)
He collected kids from the corner of the streets, playing ball with bats
He collected kids from the upper class, young aristocrats
And he taught them how he could,to live in brotherhood
Wearing baggy shorts and funny cowboy hats.
Around the world, the message ranpast India, Burma, and Japan,
As kids in every land heard B.P.'s word
And every nation honored himuntil the day his eyes grew dim
And the Lord said, "Baden Powell, who'll be prepared?".
(chorus)
He collected kids from the corner of the streets, playing ball with bats
He collected kids from the upper class, young aristocrats
And he taught them how he could,to live in brotherhood
Wearing baggy shorts and funny cowboy hats.
Now B.P.'s gone, but his great game lives on and on
Though things aren't quite the same they used to be
In spite of change, the modern ladis really just like his old granddad
on Brownsea Island all those years ago.
(chorus)
He collected kids from the corner of the streets, playing ball with bats
He collected kids from the upper class, young aristocrats
And he taught them how he could,to live in brotherhood
Wearing baggy shorts and funny cowboy hats.
