Lunch Time Discussion: Medication Adherence with Dr. Vivian Tsang Friday, July 27 • 1pm - 2:30pmOver the last 10-15 years, there’s been an increasing amount of oral chemotherapy agents introduced, and treatment for cancer is no longer strictly revolved around intravenous administration. The convenience of oral administration certainly has its benefits such as flexibility in receiving treatment outside of a clinic or physician office. Unfortunately, the intended convenience also carries the huge burden for medication non-adherence. This talk will focus on the importance of maintaining medication adherence, especially for the treatment of the various cancers. Patient convenience is a high priority, but every attempt should be made to also maintain a high level of compliance. Dr. Vivian Tsang currently practices as a clinical oncology pharmacist at Torrance Memorial Medical Center in Torrance, California. Her specialty practice and interest is focused in hematology and bone marrow transplantation. Dr. Tsang is both board certified in oncology and pharmacotherapy.
