Congratulations May Program Graduates!
On May 14, 2011, seven clients graduated from the Life Skills and the New Life Addiction Treatment Program (our long-term care programs). Below are some of the graduates’ and their counselor’s comments: Matthew’s Counselor - ―What I like about him is that he never stopped asking questions.‖ Crystal - ―I want to thank God and my Mission family.‖ Michael - ―I had been to two other graduations before mine, and I told myself that ―I’ll get there.‖ This treatment team is better than what any actor in Hollywood has, whether Robert Downey Jr or Charlie Sheen, or anyone else! I am most thankful for my counselor Dennis who allowed me to share my feelings and gave me words of wisdom and knowledge. I am also thankful for Britton, the Director of the Emergency Lodge Program and all the Mission staff. There is no turning back for me!‖
Thank you for your gifts that will continue to help these and other clients. Please join us for our next graduation on July 16 @ 9am, Mission Chapel!

The Gospel Center Rescue Mission presents "Sing For THEIR Supper – A Singer/Songwriter Showcase Fundraiser Series For The Homeless” on Friday, August 12th, 19th and 26th, 2011 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Whirlow’s Tossed & Grilled, 1926 Pacific Avenue in Stockton, CA.
The phrase "Sing For Your Supper" is used to describe a singer that performs songs to earn his or her meals in order to survive. Not only does the Gospel Center Rescue Mission serve over 250 meals to homeless men, women and children of San Joaquin County every day, but they also provide clothing, shelter, education, counseling, substance abuse treatment, spiritual support and follow- up assistance.
"Sing For THEIR Supper” will feature some of Stockton's most talented singer/songwriters performing for meals served to the homeless at the Gospel Center Rescue Mission. You are invited to donate during each perform-ance ($20 serves 10 meals, $40 serves 20 meals, etc) or ask family, friends, co-workers, members of your church, club, group, business or organization to pledge donations and turn them in at each event.
Whirlow's Tossed & Grilled will also donate 20% of all purchases on the day of each event to help provide even more meals for the homeless. For more information, please call (209) 320-2329 or e-mail [email protected].
