This time was no different, so when we planned an investigation at the Lowe Hotel in Point Pleasant, WV, the !irst thing I did was call to ask how much it would be for a room, .1*,'H1%+$..G D-$' 8"2&*2>$,J When I called on Friday, July the 13th about 11:00 a.m., a young woman answered the phone. I told her I was with a paranormal team based in Bristol, Virginia and that we wanted to come and investigate the hotel. I told her that I had eight investigators who would be staying the night and I asked her if she had anything available that could accommodate eight people. She said, “Yes,” that she did have a two room suite that slept eight people. I asked her how much it would be and she said $109.00 plus tax. She seemed very eager about our team coming for an investigation and I assumed the

weekend would run smoothly. ''''''''''Sunday morning we left Bristol around 7:00 a.m., and I again called the Lowe Hotel to verify that the two room suite that slept eight people was still available. This time I spoke to an older man who told me that the room was indeed $109.00 a night and that it did sleep up to eight people, .1*,'H1%+$..G' <&'?1.'1#">&'1')*0$'

Once inside the older man I had spoken with earlier commented that maybe we should upgrade to river view rooms. We asked if we could see the river view room and the suite

that we had already put our name on to have the room held. He took us upstairs to show us the rooms that turned out to be $89.00 a night and only slept up to four people. He told us that we would have to get two of the river view rooms to accommodate our team. We told him we would rather have




the suite and asked to see it. He took us to a suite that only slept six people. While looking at this one, we asked again about the one that slept up to eight people that we were promised. He said that he had already had a family call and reserve that room for the same night but that he would show it to us anyway and maybe he could move the family into the suite we were in that only slept six people. If we had gotten the suite that slept six he said we would end up having to purchase the suite and another room. ' ' ' ' ' ' ' Finally, he showed us the suite that we had originally been promised. It had four double beds that could easily accommodate eight people comfortably. We told him that we de!initely wanted this room. He then stated that if we wanted the suite we would have to purchase another room with it because it would not hold eight people, when clearly it would and was the suite we were promised to begin with. He then said that it really didn’t matter which room we got that either way if we went with the two river view

rooms or the two room suite that it would be $25.00 per person. She continued by telling us that their group rate was $30.00 per person. We then told her that her husband had just told us it was $25.00 per person upstairs not even 15 minutes ago. She then said that her husband wouldn’t have told us that because $25.00 was their group rate 15 years ago that now it was $30.00 per person. Finally she said with a hateful tone that, “I will let you have the room for $25.00 per person but when it gets dark you have to stay in your room.
